Chapter 37

Napangiting pumasok siya sa loob ng bahay ng mga Vargas at saka muling hinarap ang mga magulang ng babaeng mahal niya.

There seated was the woman who raised and nurtured Krystal, and the man he look up to who was also the father of Krystal, the woman he love, and the only one he would offer his love. He sat across the couple, ready for their interrogation. It felt like déjà vu though. Nope, it actually wasn't déjà vu at all, he really went through that before.

He went straight to the company after getting convinced by Krystal not to send her off to their home. After hours of working, his mind wandered back to the little woman. Nag-aalala siya rito kahit pa sa bahay lang naman ng mga magulang nito uuwi ang dalaga para makapagpaalam. Though that was just part of the reason why he was worried all over, deep inside him, he was hoping for her to finally bear his child. Nang hindi na siya mapakali ay tinawagan niya ang kasambahay upang alamin kung nakauwi na ba ang dalaga pero hindi pa raw ito dumarating magmula noong umalis sila.

So he decided to pay their house a visit, and maybe to get into her parents good side. He was just right on time, her mother was cooking and she must have smell or feel something bad that she throw up and fainted. Good thing he caught her on time, unmindful of the stares given by her parents.

After laying her down, he was bombarded with questions, mostly from her father who happen to be the man who saved him long time ago. That noble prince who saved him.

He was glad to finally meet him again, even in an unexpected situation, he was still glad that the noble prince is fine and have a loving family.

"Pero maiba tayo Mr. El Greco" pag-iiba ng Mr. Vargas sa usapan gamit ang seryosong boses.

"Bakit ka narito, ano ang namamagitan sa inyo at bakit mo tinawag na baby ang anak ko?" Uno gulped at the intensity of the voice of Mr. Vargas. Halos hindi siya makasagot sa tanong nito dahil sa istriktong awra na pumapalibot dito.

"Mahal, huwag mo naman takutin ang bata" pagpapakalma ng ginang sa asawa. Pero hindi iyon nakabawas sa kaba ni Uno. He was used to any forms of intimidation for goodness sake, but the man he was facing right now is no ordinary man. It was his saviour for crying out loud, and also the man of that little woman he adore.

"I-Ipagpapaalam ko lang po siya" utal-utal na sagot niya, halos hindi makaisip ng tamang salita.

"Hijo kumalma ka muna, saka mo sagutin ang tanong ng asawa ko" mahinahong saad ng ginang sa binata. Ginawa niya naman hanggang sa maayos nang gumagana ang sariling utak para sumagot ng maayos. He took a deep breath and felt his tensed muscles relaxed.

"As I have said earlier, ipagpapaalam ko lang po sana si Krystal, isasama ko po siya sa Italy" mahinahong sagot ng binata.

"And why?" the older man inquired.

"Because I want her beside me. I want to spend some time with her" he replied bravely.

"Okay" Uno sweatdropped. He didn't know what that okay really mean.

"Anong relasyon mo sa anak ko at tinawag mo siyang baby?"

"Mahal, huwag mo ngang takutin" saway naman ng ginang sa asawa. Mr. Vargas sighed and just asked another question.

"Okay fine. Just this one. You were that man right? The one who helped us for the operation. Oh well, I guess I don't have to asked anymore because it was so obvious." lalong nanlamig si Uno sa narinig.

"Uhm, about that I'm sorry for taking advantage of the situation. I would not justify what I did. I apologize. But, I can't deny that I am also happy for having her beside me, and I wanted to treasure all those memories we shared together" he didn't realized his eyes softened when his tongue found those words out of his mouth which amuses the couple. This man in front of them showed such affection towards their daughter, and those eyes held sincerity.
