The next day she woke up with a mind that was running through the events of the day before. Her mind lingered on the thought of her date and that Emma might actually like her.
She got dressed in a white and black cat hoodie that was just a little too big and decided she wouldn't wear a hat to she would show off her freshly dyed hair.
She went downstairs to eat what little breakfast she could before getting in the car and heading to school. She got to the school early as usual and started drawing one of the teachers in the front office. The bell rang and she started off to class.
As she was going down the bleak school hallways she saw many people stare at her dyed hair. She watched as many of the girls looked from her hair to theirs, and many jealous looks being thrown at her, but she kept walking.
When she got to her first class that's when the stares started getting to her. A boy named Eric wouldn't stop staring at her and a girl named Emilee gave a sad but jealous look.
When she sat down at her seat and she saw Katy's agape jaw, she smiled sheepishly and quickly looked in her camera on her phone to make sure nothing was actually drawing attention.
"When did you dye your hair?" Katy asked jokingly accusing.
Lizzie gave a small laugh and she shrugged. "Last night. I did it myself. I kinda am good at it." Katy looked even more shocked.
"You're 'kinda good'? Girl you're amazing!" Lizzie blushed at the outburst. "Can you do mine?" she asked. Lizzie was taken aback by this and gave a nervous smile.
"Yeah, I-I guess." Voices started popping up all around them.
"Can you do mine too?"
"How about mine?"
"Mine's kinda dark. Could you bleach it?"
Lizzie nervously looked into all of the eager eyes around her. "If it's alright with your parents. I don't want to get into any trouble." All of the kids immediately got on their phones and started texting. The teacher walked in and saw everyone on their phones and his eyebrows drew together.
"Alright get off or all of them will be taken until after school." Everyone got off and put their phones away. The teacher started class and she started going through a list of how much dye she would need to do all of these people's hair. In art class she was sitting at her usual table when she heard the familiar sound of someone sitting next to her.
She looked up and was surprised to see Harlow sneering at her.
"Who did your hair and where can I find them?" she demanded. To say Lizzie was surprised would be an understatement, she was totally shocked. "Well?"
Lizzie snapped out of it and tried speaking. "Umm- I d-did it."
Harlow looked disgusted. "You dare lie to me?" She lifted her hand and grabbed Lizzie's hair. Lizzie let out a surprised gasp and lifted her hand to try and relieve the tension.
"OW, what are you doing?" She asked meekly, tears prickling the sides of her eyes.
Harlow rolled her eyes. "Don't lie to me, now who did your hair?"
Lizzie's courage was returning slowly. "I told you I did." She said this and immediately regretted it as she saw the anger flare in Harlow's eyes.
"Stop lying." She raised her hand to pull harder, but her hand was wrenched away. Lizzie rubbed the spot on her head and glared.
"Harlow, what did I say about staying away from Lizzie?" A familiar voice made her skin warm and knees weak. She dropped the glare when saw Emma standing right there holding Harlow's wrist.
"Lizard Girl here, had the audacity to lie to ME!" Harlow raged. "I can't believe you choose her over us." She gestured over to the group of girls huddled in a corner.
Emma's face darkened. She leaned into Harlow and whispered something in her ear. Whatever she had said had the effect to make all of the color drain from Harlow's face and make her nod in agreement to whatever Emma was saying.
Emma dropped he wrist and smiled. "You got it?" Harlow nodded and as she was leaving threw a nasty glare at Lizzie, making her shiver. "Did she hurt you?" Lizzie looked into the beautiful brown eyes staring into hers and slowly shook her head.
She nodded and sat down in the seat next to her."Look Lizzie, I am so sorry for the way I acted yesterday. I was acting like a total spoiled brat." Lizzie laughed and tears started to leak from her eyes. Emma smiled at the sound of her laugh. Lizzie wiped the tears from her eyes and tried to compose herself.
"It is alright. By the way, if it's alright with you, I never did give you my number," she said shyly. Emma's eyes widened. She smacked her hand to her forehead and shook her head.
"I am so dumb. I forgot to ask you for your number!" Lizzie's face became as red as a ladybug. "Can I have your phone?" Lizzie got her phone out and unlocked it. She watched as Emma typed something into her phone. She turned it off and gave it back. "There you go. You now have my number." She then opened her phone and started doing something. Lizzie got a text and saw it was from a 'Lizzie's Girlfriend'. Lizzie blushed at the name Emma gave herself and started considering what the 'girlfriend' at the end could mean.
"Y-you put g-girlfriend." She stated in a small voice.
Emma nodded. "Only if you want me to be."
Lizzie considered this. "I-I don't know if I'm ready... I'm sorry. I really like you and I do want to date you. But the title might be to much at the moment."
Emma nodded in understanding. "I respect that. But don't think I'll stop trying." She said the last part with a smirk and Lizzie felt like she could pass out. The teacher finally started talking and the two of them basked in the revelations of that conversation.

Emma smiled to herself. Nice try Liam. She's mine. She came to realize something about herself. She was becoming more and more possessive of Lizzie.
She realized if anyone hurt her she would go after them herself. She glared at the back of Harlow's head.
You better stay in your place.
