Harlow's fear slowly melted into annoyance.
"What Emma?" Emma settled a cool glare on Harlow and Lizzie shivered.
"What are you doing to Lizzie?" she asked, demanding.
Harlow rolled her eyes. "I'm just giving her a warm welcome to the school." She said with a sickeningly sweet voice. Emma rolled her eyes this time.
She shifted her gaze to Lizzie. "Did she hurt you?" Lizzie shook her head slightly, blushing as she remembered her dream. She averted her gaze and noticed they were drawing a crowd. "You better leave her alone or you're out of the group." Emma said, nonchalantly.
Harlow stared her down before finally backing off. "Fine, sorry." She grumbled something else and walked away. Emma glared at her back then focused back on Lizzie, who was staring at her with surprise.
"No one has ever stood up for me before," she said quietly. Emma smiled.
"Well you have me now. I'll be your vigilant knight." She gave a dramatic bow and Lizzie chuckled under her breath.
"What happened to your eye?!" she exclaimed suddenly. Lizzie pulled her hat down a little more, trying not to be suspicious.
"Nothing. I got it at home, not from Harlow, if you were thinking that."
Emma looked concerned and it was worrying Lizzie. "Well, lets get you to class," she said kindly, offering her hand. Lizzie cautiously took it and Emma pulled her to her class.
"See you in art!" she called enthusiastically as she rushed down the halls. Lizzie blushed and walked into the class. She sat down at the same seat as the day before and saw Liam was sitting next to her again.
"Hi Lizzie," he said smiling at her. She gave a small wave and pulled out her sketch book. She noted that it was getting quite full and she would need to buy a new one soon. She started sketching a very lovely girl in the front of the class while she waited for the teacher to come in. She had barely started it when Liam started talking to her.
"How was the rest of your day yesterday."
She looked at him then back at her book. "It was fine."
He looked at her eye. "Your eye ok?" he asked sympathetically. She nodded. She looked up and saw the girl she was drawing looking at her. When the girl noticed her gaze she got up and came over to Lizzie's desk.
"Why do you keep looking at me?" she asked curious. Lizzie's face flushed red.
"S-sorry... I was drawing you," she mumbled and then pushed the book across her desk. The girl looked it over.
"Wow, that's me. You're really good." Lizzie blushed more and looked away. Liam noticed this and started getting tense. He didn't need more competition. "My name is Katy Holt. What is yours?" she asked kindly.
"Umm... My name is Lizzie. Lizzie Taylor," she said softly.
"Well then Lizzie, want to sit with me at lunch?"
Lizzie was surprised by this and said, "I don't know. I might be sitting with someone. But you can join us," she tried.
Katy thought about this. "Yeah. I'll do that." The teacher walked in and told everyone to go to their desks. "Well see you a lunch Lizzie Taylor." Lizzie nodded, her face still red. Liam put a note on her desk and she looked at it.
'Want to eat lunch with me?' She looked at him but his gaze was on the teacher.
She wrote, 'Sorry Liam. I am sitting with Katy and Emma.' She gave him the note and turned her focus to the teacher.
Wow, all these people wanting to sit with me at lunch, she thought.Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed!
