Lizzie woke up in a dark room.
She was tied to a chair and she had a piece of cloth in her mouth. She started to struggle trying to see how tight the ropes around her wrist were tied on.
They were, to her misfortune, securely tied. She huffed a breath of frustration.
What does that guy want with me? Who was he? Why am I here? Her thoughts were spinning and she was starting to panic.
Yes she was unnerved before, but now she was really scared. She saw something move in the corner across from her and she froze. Someone was watching her. She tried to speak but the gag prevented that. She grunted to try and show her annoyance.
She heard an amused laugh come from the corner and it only served to make her even more mad. She started to struggle again but stopped as she felt the rope painfully rubbing through the layers of her skin.
She cried out, a muffled sound beneath the gag, but the person seemed to hear her and shifted. Her eyes pierced through whoever was there and she could see them starting to squirm beneath her glare.
She tried to say 'who's there' but it came out a muffled mumble. She rolled her eyes and tried moving her feet. They weren't tied but she couldn't do much with them. The person in the corner seemed to be getting bored of just watching her and started to move towards the light. She was surprised to see Liam standing before her.
She made a surprised noise and he chuckled. "Lizzie, you are very entertaining. Most people would be having a panic attack. But you, you have been trying to find a way out. Unfortunately for you, Mason is very good at his job and you won't be getting out unless I let you." He smiled. "However, I kind of like seeing you at my mercy. It makes me wonder if we could be doing something more." He leaned in and his face was right in front of hers. Her eyes widened and then narrowed.
It was like she was saying 'You wouldn't dare' with her eyes. He smiled and pulled the gag down. "Now before you start yelling for help, I would like to say something. I know where your family is. I also know where Emma is." Lizzie's eyes widened in horror. As if glad to see this reaction, Liam's smile widened. "I'm glad you understand." He leaned the rest of the way in and smashed his lips against hers. She cried out but she couldn't do anything about it.
A tear found its way down her face. This was her first kiss, and it wasn't with someone she wanted. He pulled back a small smile playing on his lips.
"Just as good as I imagined." He pulled the gag back up and stood up to his full height. He was quite tall. Tears were rolling down her face.
"I-I'm sorry Emma...." She whispered under her breath.
Liam couldn't hear her because of the gag, but he could tell by her face she wasn't happy. He sighed.
"Please don't cry." He stooped down to her level and wiped her tears away. She tried to move away from his touch but couldn't due to the chair and the ropes.
He smiled sadly. "You'll feel better once I get rid of Emma." Her eyes widened in shock.
She felt a stabbing feeling in her gut and more tears started to flow from her eyes. He turned and left, leaving her alone in the dark.Emma was pacing back and forth. She still hadn't heard from Lizzie. Why hadn't she heard? She tried to calm herself down but couldn't. She kept feeling like something was wrong. She picked up her phone again and sent a text to Lizzie.
Lizzie
Emma : hey u good???
Yeah : Lizzie
Could you meet me at the old railroad? : LizzieEmma : of course
Emma : what time??Now? : Lizzie
Emma : on my way!
She closed the chat and her heart warmed to know she was alright. But something inside her told her that she wasn't.
She got into her car and started towards their meeting spot. When she got there she was all alone. She sat down on an old rusted piece of metal. She was careful of the sharp edges but just sat there to wait.
She surveyed the land around her as her well trained mind tended to do. There were many broken down and rusted train cars and support beams. She was sitting beneath the highway, a bridge that had years of grime staining the sides. There was chip bags, candy wrappers, and cans all around.
She thought she heard something knock over a can and stood up fast. She turned a full circle in fighting stance ready to be ambushed. When nothing came she could not shake the feeling that someone was watching her.
She tried to calm down when she remembered that Lizzie had asked her on this date. LIZZIE had. She had never been the take charge kind of girl.
She had always waited for Emma to make the first move. As her thoughts started to click together she heard another sound.I need to get out of here now. She ran as fast as she could but could hear someone in pursuit. She knocked over all that she could but the steps never faltered. She turned around expecting a rival mafia member to be there but was surprised to see an old ex of hers Mason Shreave.
"What do you want Mason?" He smiled. A creepy thing under the flickering street lamp.
"I'm here for you Emma." Her face darkened. "I'm sorry. I have a girlfriend already."
He laughed under his breath. "Not like that Emma." He clicked his tongue. "My boss wants me to bring you to him."
She laughed dryly. "You think you can beat me?" He smiled. "I don't have to." He aimed a gun and fired. She felt something pierce her skin and cried out. She watched as a dart full of liquid slowly drained into her. "Night, night Emma." She collapsed and the last thing she saw was the world tipping around her.Hehehehe plot twists! But thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed! I hope you have a great day/night/midday and never forget that you are valid!
