Lizzie woke up that morning with her brain only half awake. Even after she had two cups of coffee and half a bowl of cereal. Her dads noticed and were growing worried.
"Hey Lizzie, are you alright?" her dad asked in an anxious tone, as if waiting for her to say she wasn't feeling good.
"Yeah, I'm just tired," she lied. She didn't know why her brain didn't want to fully wake up, but that seemed logical enough. He nodded, still looking worried. They walked out to the car and started on their way.
She had to wake herself up three times before they got to the school.
"Bye Dad," she said.
"Bye Sweet Pea. I love you." She nodded and ran off. She decided she would sit outside under a tree because it was a warmer morning. She saw Liam sitting on a bench with his back to her talking on the phone, and she settled on drawing him.
She only had a few details left when the bell rang and he ran off the class. She decided she would finish her drawing there and started on her way.
She just went through the door when Emma yelled out, "Boo!" making Lizzie jump. "Oops, sorry." She studied Lizzie for a second. "Are you ok? You look quite pale and you have huge bags under your eyes," she said a nervously.
Lizzie nodded. "I'm fine, just tired." She stuck with the same thing from earlier, maybe if she said it enough she might be able to convince herself as well. Emma nodded and they continued walking.
"So you doing anything for lunch?" she asked, trying to seem like she didn't care. Lizzie shook her head. "Well then, would you like to go to a restaurant with me? I mean only if you want to..." She started blushing and the two girls stopped.
Lizzie looked at her wide eyed. "S-sure. Do you know a place?" she asked as her face turned red as a tomato.
Emma immediately perked up. "Really?" Lizzie nodded and Emma jumped with joy. "Great. Well then see you in art?" Lizzie nodded and walked into her classroom. She watched as Emma did a little celebratory dance then ran off to get to her first class. She turned around and noticed that Katy had moved to the desk next to hers.
"Hey~ Lizzie~" she said teasingly. "What was Emma saying?" Lizzie's face automatically heated up.
"N-nothing." She lied unconvincingly.
"Mhhmm. Then why is your face soooo red?" she asked, stretching out the word.
Lizzie shook her head then leaned in. "I think she asked me on a date..."
Katy squealed. "Where are you going!?" She was almost shouting.
"SHHH! But, I don't know. I think she knows a place, so yeah." She pulled out her sketch book and flipped to her most recent drawing and got back to work.
"Oh come on. You can't leave me on that!" Katy whined. Lizzie rolled her eyes.

All of Katy's noise drew the attention of Liam, not that Lizzie didn't draw his attention already. The quiet, bitter girl always drew his gaze whenever she came into the same room as him.
He looked at what she was drawing and immediately recognized it as him this morning. Blushing, he asked, "Is that me?" It made Lizzie's slit eyes fall on him. He gulped and the blush spread to his ears. She nodded. "Wow, you're amazing. Who else do you draw?" he asked, really wanting to keep her focus on him.
She handed him her book and he started carefully looking through it. Being extra sure to take in every detail on each piece.
"You're even more amazing than I thought." he declared, stars in his eyes. He handed the book back to her and their hands just barely touched. His heart exploded at the simple touch. He saw her blush and realized how the color brought out the few freckles she had dotting her nose and cheeks. "I believe we got off on the wrong hand. Can we start over?" He asked shyly. She nodded and he quickly turned to the front of the room. Trying to fight off the blush that threatened to take over his whole face.

Lizzie turned back to Katy after Liam turned away.
"You really are a hunk magnet. Can you catch me a rich and popular person?" she asked, not so innocently. Lizzie laughed, true, pure laughter. The sound turned heads making everyone stare at her. When she realized what noise she made she cupped a hand over her mouth trying to stop it. All eyes were on her. Everyone of them had pure wonder and amazement in them. The teacher walked in calling everyone to attention and started the class, saving her from the prying eyes of her peers.

As she was walking out of the school for her date Katy pulled her aside.
"Ok why did you never tell me you had such an angelic laugh?" Lizzie blushed slightly. No one except her dads had ever complimented her laugh.
"I didn't know. If you didn't know I don't talk a lot. Even less laugh," she said, embarrassed. She honestly hated compliments.
"Anyway, we need to get you ready for your date."
Lizzie took a step back in surprise. "But I am ready?" She was very confused.
"Yeah right. You're not wearing any makeup."
Lizzie mouthed an O as she finally understood. "I'm sorry Katy, but I don't wear makeup."
Katy sighed. "Can I at least do your hair?" Lizzie cautiously nodded her head and Katy pulled her hat off and gasped.
"Lizzie! Your hair is beautiful. Why do you try to cover everything up?" she asked, placing her hands on her hips.
Lizzie looked away. "My mom had all of my features but blonde hair, so even prettier. I cover up because it never did her any favors. She didn't have the best childhood. Her dad died when she was my age and her step dad loved her. He liked to 'play' with her when her mom wasn't around. She died five years after having me." Katy gasped. "If you tell anyone this I will end you." she said seriously. Katy laughed and put her hands up in mock surrender.
"Anyway, we don't need to do much to your hair, but do you have anything on under that huge thing?" She gestured to her hoodie. Lizzie nodded but didn't take it off. "Well?" She cautiously pulled it over her head and hugged it close to her chest. She had a plain black long-sleeved shirt that hung off of her skinny arms. Katy smiled and pulled out a hairbrush to start brushing. It didn't take long because her hair was so short. She moved her bangs around and placed them delicately in a way that framed her face.
She studied her for a moment. "Can I just put a touch of eyeliner on?"
Lizzie rolled her eyes.
"No? Oh fine!" She huffed but smiled nonetheless and nodded in approval. "You look great, now, go get your girl!" She started to shove her down the street and nearly fell once Katy stopped and walked beside her. Lizzie saw Emma first, waiting just a little further along the road. She turned to thank Katy and saw her running away. She rolled her eyes and continued on. She froze when she realized that Katy had taken her hoodie. She cursed under her breath.
Katy never gets to do this again, Lizzie swore in her mind. Emma turned slightly and saw Lizzie coming. Her face lit up and she waved her over, smiling. Lizzie took in what she was wearing with growing unease, it was much better than what Lizzie was wearing. She appeared to have changed her clothes to a sleek navy blue, off-shoulder shirt paired with black slacks. Lizzie blushed profusely and Emma smirked at the sight of the nervous, blushing, shy Lizzie.
"You ready?" she asked and Lizzie shook her head. She leaned in slightly and groaned.
"This is my first date ever," she whispered.
Emma laughed, not the sound Lizzie wanted to hear in that moment. "If I had known that I wouldn't have chosen the most expensive thing on the street."
Lizzie was taken aback. "The most expensive place!? Why would you choose here?" she asked, even more nervous now.
A man approached and bowed deeply. "Lady Emma, your table is ready," a very professional looking butler said.
"Too late now," she teased in her ear." Lizzie gulped and they walked in.

I hope y'all won't mind that this is where I'm going to end the grammar fixes. Sorry not sorry, but it's a pain in my butt and I want to work on my other things! Sorry and I hope you have a great day/night/noontime!
