"Uncle Cory!" Lavender called, excitedly.
"Hey Lavender, how are you feeling?" I asked, giving her a side hug and setting her flowers on a table nearby.
"Can people stop asking me that? Just assume that I always feel terrible," Lavender replied. "It's not like I'll wake up one day and be better."
"I'm sorry Lav. I would say I understand, but I don't." I said.
"As weird as it may sound, that actually made me feel a little better," Lavender smiled.
She patted the side of her bed, inviting me to sit next to her. I did, and she laid her head on my shoulder.
"I'm sorry Anubis forgot about your anniversary," She said.
I stayed silent for a moment, surprised that she remembered.
"It's okay-"
I was interrupted by a soft snore. Lavender had fallen asleep. I smiled.
