Kyah Richardson * 3 MONTHS LATER * Today was my dad and Keisha's wedding. Over the months, Keisha has been a great stepmom actually. Dania and Taylor were actually real cool, and I consider them as my sisters. Kolby, Jaliyah and I are back cool and stronger than ever. These past three months have been peaceful, no drama, no violence, and no stress. Dru and I strictly talk business about our son, who will be arriving in a few weeks. I am so excited, but also nervous ass hell. Dru and I are still trying to decide on a name, but I know we'll have one picked once baby boy is born. All the girls we're getting ready for the wedding. My dad bought this beautiful venue outside by the beach. Keisha chose me to be one of her bridesmaids and I was actually surprised. The navy blue dresses that she picked were beautiful and it fit with the baby bump well. I was getting my hair pinned when Jaliyah came over to make I looked great.
" You look gorgeous bestie. Nigga so stupid to fumble you. " She said as we both laughed
The wedding started in 10 minutes and the hairstylist finished just in time. I took a couple photos and headed to the bathroom before the wedding started. As I was walking towards the bathroom, I bumped into someone. What's up with me and bumping into people? I mean I was just in my phone but anyways.
" Excuse me love. I'm so sorry." he said
I looked up at him and froze. This boy was so fine. He had nice, smooth brown skin, pretty teeth, and the best waves I've ever seen before. I stood there just staring as I watched him say something else. I zoned out and chuckled.
" I'm sorry, what did you say? I had zoned out"
" I was asking what was your name ma." he said licking his lips
" Kyah" I said blushing
" Oh your the boss daughter? He speaks about you all the time, I didn't know you was this fine tho." he said admiring me
" And what's you name?"
" Orlando, but you can call me Lando."
" Okay Lando well I have to use the restroom, as you can see I can't wait so. I'll see you out there I guess." I said holding my belly.
He grabbed my hand and kiss it causing chills to run through my body. My lord, you took your time with him. I used the restroom and walked over to the bridesmaid line so that we could walk out for the wedding. I placed last in line behind Dania and Taylor to give me more time to wobble down the aisle. The music began to play queuing that the wedding was starting. Everyone held hands with their groom as I stood alone at the end of the line. Since me and Dru broke up, I decided to walk alone. As everyone began to walk, I looked straight ahead ready to get this over with. I was one step away from the door when the dude from earlier grabbed my arm.
" I thought you may needed some help getting down the aisle." he said smiling down at me.
I just smiled and we began walking down the aisle. Walking down the aisle with Lando started feel more than just a favor. It felt real and like it was supposed to happen. Everyone took pictures and smiled as we were almost to the altar. We got a couple compliments from those in the crowd and all I could do was laugh. When we got to the front, Lando placed a kiss on my forehead in front of the whole wedding. I turned to go to my spot blushing and star struck. As I turned to face the crowd, I spotted Dru looking at me with his jaws clenched. I looked away from him and waited for Keisha to come down the aisle. The doors opened and everyone stood up as Keisha walked down the aisle to " You for Me " by Johnny Gill in the background. My dad stood in front cheesed out and dropped a couple of tears. Keisha was very pretty, I'm happy my dad found love again. She made her way to the altar and the pastor proceeded with his word. Lando stood across the venue smiling at me and making faces, all I could do was laugh at this boy.
" If anyone thinks that these two should not be joined together speak now or forever hold your peace." the pastor said
Everyone was silent and looked around make sure no one would stand up and make an outburst.
" Okay then-"
" I object. " said a lady standing in the crowd, with her head down.
Everyone turned there heads quickly as the lady began walking to the altar. My dad, Keisha, Kolby, Dania, Taylor, and I stepped down ready to beat who ever's ass this was. As the woman got closer she lifted her head and I froze. I literally could move.
" Nia " my dad said walking up to my mom
" Mom?" Kolby hugged her with joy and said
Everyone was waiting on me to join the big happy family, but I just couldn't move. Was I tripping? Is this what they mean by having pregnancy brain? I ran to the back of the venue and slid down the nearest wall I could find. I began to panic and my heart was pounding. I couldn't even cry, I just was sitting on the ground breathing hard as hell and couldn't breathe. Jayliah found me first and sat by me hugging me. She tried calming me down but it just didn't work. Kolby followed behind her and then of course Dru. He kneeled down to me, and I leaped into his arms. Everyone around us never said anything, not even Kolby. Eventually everyone was in a group hug and this helped soothe me quickly. I love that everyone put their differences aside to comfort me. I love that they all were here hugging me and we were together, the four of us. I missed this. Once I was okay everyone let go and Dru helped me up off the ground. I dug my face into his chest as he held my belly and place his chin on my forehead. I wasn't on earth anymore. I felt like I was in heaven, floating and away from all the drama and chaos.
" Aye you alright shawty?" I heard Lando walk up and said
" She good, you can go back where you was" Dru said to him
Lando shook his head and walked back to the wedding venue. My mom and dad walked over towards us and I let go of Dru. I walked up to my mom and broke down. She hugged me tightly and began to cry too. I couldn't believe my mom was alive. I couldn't believe my baby now has all of his grandparents.
" I guess the wedding is off now." I said causing everyone to laugh.
" No it's not." my dad said kissing my mom.
Everyone followed my dad back to the wedding venue, where he grabbed the mic and made a big speech. He explained his love for my mom and he apologized to Keisha. Surprisingly, she understood and handed my mom the bouquet of flowers. The wedding went on and my parents were now alive and married.
" You may kiss the bride." the pastor said
My parents kissed and everyone screamed and cheered. I was so happy right now. I looked up at the sky and thanked God for this beautiful blessing. We all walked out of the venue and started heading towards the ball room for the reception. I seen Dania and Taylor walking out the door and I quickly walked over to them.
" Hey y'all, I just wanted y'all to know that y'all are still my sisters no matter what. These past few months y'all have helped me with alot and I really appreciate it. No love lost right?" I said to them
" No love lost" they both said and we all hugged
Jaliyah and I walked towards the ball room together as Dru pulled me to the side before we could get inside.
" You okay? I'm just checking on you. I know this is alot to process right now with your mom being back and all."
" Im okay Dru. Yes, it's alot to function right now but I'm blessed and now our son is blessed. I couldn't be happier."
" I'm glad to hear that ma. Well I was just checking don't wanna be a bother." he said trying to walk away.
" Dru, come here." I said grabbing his arm.
I pulled him into a kiss and wrapped my arms around his neck standing on my tippy toes. I loved this man. I wanted to fix what was broken and move on from the past. I wanted my son to have a two parent home. I wanted everything with Dru. I couldn't give up on him. I wanted to give it another shot. I know that now, he'll do right.
" So that mean we back together?" he said smiling down on me
I nodded my head as he grabbed my hand and we walked inside of the room dancing. Everyone was dancing and drinking and having fun. My mom and dad were in the middle of the dance floor getting down, Jaliyah was grinding on Kolby, and I was wrapped in Dru arms on the dance floor. It felt good to have everyone joined back together. Dru and Kolby put there differences aside and was now gang gang again, I loved it. I spotted Lando looking at me drinking out of his cup. I ignore him and continued to dance the night away with my family.
