Dru Brown " You Kolby sister right?" I asked as I admired her.
" Yeah, why?" she asked with a slight attitude.
" I was just asking love damn, I can't ask?" I chuckled.
" I have to get to class, um it was nice meeting you I guess.." she said trying to turn away and walk down the hall.
" I guess I'll see you around Ms. ? " I smiled waiting for her to tell me her name.
"Kyah." she smiled, causing me to smile as well.
As I watched Kyah walk down the hall towards her class, all I could think about was how the fuck did I not recognize her all these years?! Shawty was everything!! Pretty brown skin, about 5"3, pretty eyes and teeth, and the perfect body to match. It was a must that I get to know Kyah, I can't let someone like her just walk away.

" Can I get two 8 piece chicken nugget meals with polynesian sauce and two large strawberry lemonades please?" I said into the speaker at Chic Fil A.
" Will that be all?" the lady asked.
" Yes ma'am"
" Your total is 14.78, you can pull around"
I pulled around and drove up to the first window where the lady on the speaker was. I handed her a 20 and she gave us our food and change back. Since we're seniors, me and Jaliyah get out early. We were chilling at Jaliyah's house after school and decided to grab something to eat before cheer practice. As we pulled up to the field, we sat in the car and ate our food. The football team was practicing on the field getting ready for their first game next week. I've been cheer captain for four years straight. I picked who would be apart of my team, what uniforms we would wear, and made up all the cheers and dances. Our school wasn't the richest school in the area, so we couldn't afford an actual coach, but I've been coming through and making it happen. I sent out a text to the rest of the team letting them know that practice started in five minutes.
" You think we going back to the finals this year?" Jaliyah asked me as we walked towards the track.
" I hope so Kolby keep telling me how they gon turn up this year so we'll see." I said as I placed my bag on the ground.
The rest of the girls made it and we started to stretch. We went through all of our cheers, stunted a bit, and practice our jumps before I ended practice.
" See you at the house party Kyah." a girl named Asia on the team said with a smile.
" House party?! What house party?" I asked with confusion.
Asia showed me Kolby's tweet on Twitter inviting everyone to the house tomorrow for a "Back To School Kickback".
" This motherfucker." I said under my breath
I walked towards the football players where Kolby was and addressed him about the party we were throwing that I had no knowledge about.
" Kolby what the fuck is this?" I asked him holding up my phone with the flyer on it.
" Ky be cool. It's just a lil' back to school kickback."
" A lil' kickback? Me and you both know everybody and they momma is gonna come. And you know how dad is about people knowing where we stay."
" Dad ain't gon know cause ain't nobody gon tell him. Loosen up a bit and just have some fun damn." He said walking off from me to go change out of his practice gear.
I mean he's right, I can be a bit over dramatic and strict about certain things I just didn't want anything to happen, especially with my dad away on his business trip. Walking back towards Jaliyah, a hand grabbed mine and I jumped. It was Dru.
" Hey. You wanna come chill at my place tonight? he asked me.
" I don't even know you like that to be coming to your crib" I laughed. " Plus my bestfriend is staying over tonight."
" You right, my bad that was kinda pushing it huh. Well, can we atleast get to know each other?"
" Sure, but I'm not looking for a boyfriend. My main focus right now is school."
" That's fine with me love. Lemme give you my number."
I handed Dru my phone and he put his number in. Why did I have a bad feeling that I was going to be head over hills for this boy? Is that really a bad thing? I never had a boyfriend. I've always been the girl who worries about her grades more than boys. There has been boys trying to get with me, but I never really was interested in the whole talking and relationship thing.
" Text me, okay" he said with a smile and I nodded before walking off.
Once I got home, I showered and put on some shorts and a oversized shirt. Jaliyah was spending the weekend since there was going to be a party here tomorrow night. I turned on The Vampire Diaries on Netflix and we ate snacks & binged watched our favorite show together.
" Dru Brown gave me his phone number today at practice" I turned and told Jaliyah.
" BITCH SWEARRR !!! OMG you better get up on that for real!"
" I just can't. It's like I wanna experience love but I also need to make sure I'm straight before doing allat extra shit."
" Girl, you really need to stop being so hard on yourself. You're going to get that successful life that you want, I know it. Let that man love on you and get to know you."
I love Jaliyah man she always knows what to say. I gave her a big hug and opened my phone. I stared at Dru's number trying to decide whether or not I was going to text him. Everybody is right, I am hard on myself and I do need to relax and just be young and turnt. I then made another oath to myself that I would be more freely, but school was still a main priority! And you know what maybe I will give Dru a chance ...
