season 4, episode 22; lucifer rising
Ilchester, Maryland.
I'd never driven quicker in my life. By now, I may have about a hundred traffic violations and caused at least five accidents, but what was supposed to be another twenty hour drive was made in less than ten.
As unrealistic as it sounds, I made it.
I saw the orange Mustang outside the beat up convent and parked someways by it. I held the demon knife at my side and ran in. When I made it in, I crept slowly. I made sure I was light on my feet so I wouldn't make a sound. I took in a quavering breath and crept more. I rounded a corner and found a fallen lineup of demons. All dead. They're here. I looked down the hallway and saw Ruby's back. I hid again in case they'd see me.
"Sof?" I turned quickly and put my finger against my lips.
"Shh." Dean nodded and I looked around the corner again. I saw Sam push open the doors and throw Lilith against the shelf. I started to panic. I needed to come up with a plan and fast.
All I could think of is killing Ruby and getting Lilith. But I needed Sam away. I looked over at Dean.
"When I say go," I whispered, "grab Sam and run."
"Are you insane?" He hissed.
"I have to stop Lilith. She's the last seal," I whispered back. "I'll kill Ruby and stop Lilith, but you have to keep Sam away, okay?"
"You'll die, Sof," he whispered.
I shook my head, "I'll try not to."
Dean sighed but nodded and we crept closer to them. But of course, something had to go wrong. Ruby turned and saw us. I felt my nose flare as she smirked and closed the doors. "No," I gasped. I ran towards the doors and tried everything to try and pry it open. Dean pushed and pushed, but the stupid doors wouldn't budge.
I knew Ruby wasn't holding the doors shut, but she must've locked it or blocked it or something.
My heartbeat started to go faster and faster. I didn't know what to do. "Sof, move." I looked over at Dean and saw him carrying a big piece of wood. I immediately moved away from the door and watched as he ran towards the door with it.
"You're lying," I heard Sam snap. I stopped Dean for a second and tried to hear what he said. "Regardless of whether she's from here or not, she said that she was never leaving me."
I furrowed my eyebrows, what?
"Fine," Lilith replied. "Don't believe me. I'm sure she's so open about her real home, then?"
When there was no reply, it clicked. They were talking about me.
I looked around and shockingly, found a crowbar. I picked it up and jammed it in between the doors. I tried to pry it with all the strength I could muster. "I thought so," Lilith said as I jammed harder. "Make sure the love of your life knows you love her. The minute you kill me, Castiel is zapping her straight back to twenty-twenty-two."
"Sam!" I shouted. "Sam! Don't kill Lilith!"
Shit!
Dean took my place and with his much stronger body strength was able to pry the door open. I was the first to go in and took Ruby by surprise when I raised her own knife against her neck. "Sofia?! What are you doing?!" Sam questioned fiercely.
"Sam, whatever you do, do not kill Lilith," I said. I looked Ruby dead in the eyes and felt her gulp against the knife as I held her against the wall. "Why don't you tell him what the last seal is?" I told her.
"Lilith," Ruby said. "Lilith is the last seal."
I raised an eyebrow, "Go on."
"It is written," Ruby continued, "that the first demon shall be the last seal."
I scoffed as I stared her down. "Karma's a bitch, isn't it?"
"Ruby?" Sam questioned. "What did you do?"
"You were supposed to kill Lilith to open the door to Lucifer's cage," Ruby said, looking at Sam behind me. "No one knew about my plan except for Lilith."
"What?" Sam said quietly.
"What?" Ruby laughed. "You think I was helping out of the goodness of my heart?!" She laughed again and let her head fall against the wall. "My God, you were both hard nuts to crack, but your trust was mine eventually. I fooled you both until this bitch came around." Ruby looked back at me. "Could never fool you, could I, Princess?"
"You bitch," Sam told her. "You lying bitch!"
Ruby only smiled at him.
"And I warned you, didn't I?" I told her. "That I would be the one to kill you."
Ruby grinned at me, "that you did," she said. "I gotta be honest, I never took what you said to heart. But look at you, doing anything and everything for Prince Charming. Guess the fairy tales switched."
"There's one thing that stayed the same though," I told her.
Ruby scoffed. "Like what?"
"The villain always dies one way or another."
And just like that,
I pierced the demon blade through Ruby's chest and watched as the electrocution effect went off through under her skin and her mouth fall open in dispare. I'd never felt more powerful. I pulled the blade back out and let her limp body fall to the ground and turned towards Lilith.
"With you, I have no idea what to do with you," I muttered, inching towards her. Once I got close enough, I crouched down and made it eye level. "Killing you is off the list."
Lilith only tried to keep her poker face at bay as I saw right through her. She was intimidated. By me.
My whole mission, my ambitions of stopping the cage from being opened... they were complete. I saved the brothers and their... our world.
