season 4, not an episode
It was late, I'll give it that. Poor Dean drove nonstop and you can tell from his eyes that I was able to see through the rearview mirror, that he was exhausted. Sam slept peacefully in the passenger seat, so it was just me and Dean. "Dean, if you're tired, I'm okay to drive," I offered.
Dean shook his head, a yawn threatening to come out. "No, no, it's okay. I'm fine," he replied with a long yawn following.
"Dean, if you fall asleep behind the wheel, we'll be as dead as my parents," I say with a serious expression.
"Why are you always joking about your parents' death?" He questioned.
I shrugged, leaning on the front seat with my chin propped up on my crossed arms. "Joking about my trauma helps me cope," I answer with a sheepish grin.
"Mm," he mockingly hums.
"Dean, you can barely keep your eyes open," I point out. "I drive, you take the backseat and get a few hours."
"If this is your excuse to drive my car, it isn't working."
"It's not! Well, it is a little bit, but the majority is so our death isn't caused by you falling asleep behind the wheel. I'm afraid I'm going to have to insist."
Dean glances back at me for a second and the way his eyes are droopy is my confirmation that I can take the wheel for a couple of hours. I give a smile that I hope was a little reassuring and he sighs, turning the wheel to the right and getting off the road. He put the car in park and we both got out of the car. "Be gentle with the brakes, I've gotta adjust them and I haven't had the chance, and if you're gonna use the signals, right is-"
"Dean," I interrupted. He looked at me expectantly and cautiously. "I've got it, relax. I'm a good driver, I swear."
"You promise? On your mother and father's graves?"
I roll my eyes, "Yes, now get in the backseat and sleep."
Dean sighs and follows my instructions and gets in the car. I get in the driver's seat and I have to resist the urge to squeal. I had Dean pass me my backpack and placed it in between me and the seat so that I can reach the pedals. It took a little while to get used to driving the Impala, but it obviously didn't take long for Dean to get used to it because he passed out after 10 minutes. I drove at a normal speed, one that wouldn't be too fast or slow, and kept the music at a low volume. One hand was on the wheel and the other was holding my head up with my elbow on the windowsill.
I took the time that I had to myself and thought over everything that happened so far. I mean, I got through a month of being here and still think it's crazy that I'm even here. I knew what was gonna come soon and I tried to think of ways that I can prevent it, but anything that I thought of could affect the entire timeline drastically. If we never go see Chuck, they wouldn't know about the books, and either way, Lilith would come to find Sam and go back to Ruby one way or another. If I just kill Ruby, it could stop the entire apocalypse, but then I'd also have to kill Lilith before she broke more seals. How successful have I been with stopping anything canon up until now?
And then I thought about Sam and what could be going through his head. I couldn't come to a final guess. After Samhain, he probably realized he needed more demon blood to use his powers, but how could I stop him from doing that? And then I thought about what Uriel said, how he knew about me. And it made me wonder if all angels knew I wasn't from here or just a handful of them. And did demons know? As far as I knew, demons didn't know. They never pointed anything out to me or the brothers. So they didn't know?
