chapter 2 part 7: white swallow

another 4 weeks past and no one heard anything about Ian until today. I was just sat on the steps of my porch drinking when lip came by.

"hey" he said coming and sitting next to me.

"mandy isn't here" I laughed thinking he was here for her.

"no I'm here for you"

"what's up" I asked a little concerned.

"have you heard anything from lan"

"No I would tell you straight away if I did, why have you" I turned and looked at him

"well two army police officers came and found me today and said that lan stole my identity to get into the army and apparently stole a helicopter and ran off."

"what the fuck, that's not like him at all" I replied in disbelief.

"did you know anything about this" lip then asked me out of no where.

"what do you mean?why would i."i replied.

"don't lie to me maddie"he said looking at me.

"fine, he told me the day before he left that he was signing up for the army but i didn't know he was serious, also I was not aware that he used your identity or that he has gone awol" I explained.

"what so you knew where he was and didn't tell us or even me" lip said raising his voice a little.

"well I figured if lan wanted you to know he would of told you all himself" I shouted back.

"we have got to find him, this is not like him at all" lip then said calmer. I nodded in agreement.

"come over to mine in a couple hours and we can start by looking through his stuff to try and find anything that might give us a clue to where he has gone" he added

"alright see you then" I said before going back inside. Iwalked into their house after an hour of talking to Lip and Fiona asked what I was doing here.

"me and lip might have a lead onto finding Ian"
I shouted while running up the stairs to his
room. me and lip started looking around his part of the room in his draws under his bed everywhere.

"what kind of clues are we looking for" I asked while flicking through magazines.

"a friend of Ian's we don't know about, an address anything really"he replied.

"you think he really stole a helicopter, I mean that doesn't sound like Ian at all"

"you worried as much as I am" I added

"yeah, it would be nice if we could find him before the army does" he replied

I put down the stuff I was looking through on the floor and went and next to Lip on his bed.

"do u think this is my fault?"i asked him.

"no , no not at all!"he explained.

first we went to jimmy's dad's house to see if we could find out anything about where he is or if he's seen ian.
"your not delivering my sushi are you" he asked after opening the door

"no afraid not" lip replied.

"who are you again" he asked pointing to him

"I"m lip, lan's brother"

"'oh yeah" then ned looked at me "oh god and I remember you" he added looking quite scared
then I gave him a cocky smile

"well I'm sorry but jimmy hasn't been in touch in a while"
