"You sure you're done?"
"Yes!" I pushed his phone forward again. "I don't need to see anymore pictures of you shirtless." I giggled. I did. I so did. I needed to see them all. He chuckled, taking it from me and stepping back from the car door so I could get out.
We'd driven around, gotten fast food for lunch and then driven for another hour before he finally parked up. I feel like he was just wasting time. Letting me see everything I wanted to before we got here. I was kind of glad he made me do it. I trusted him a little more after reading his messages to his team mates.
They were all telling him to just get it over and done with. That he should have carried on kissing my neck and eventually I'd have taken us both inside. They're right. I was so close to it as well. 4 or 5 more and I've have been handing him my keys to let us in. He just told them that he didn't want to rush things and then took the absolute savagery from his friends telling him he was whipped, wrapped around my finger, under my thumb. The list went on.
He closed the door behind me, opening the back door and pulling out a big gym bag before closing and locking the car, grabbing my hand and walking me down. I still had no idea where we were or what we were doing. Either way the late August sun was hot and there wasn't a cloud in the sky.
I was definitely a summer girl. I thrived in the heat. Sitting under the sun for hours at at time, just absorbing the rays into my bones.
"It's really quiet out here." I almost felt like I had to whisper to keep it that way, pulling my sunglasses over my eyes so I could see as we reached the treeline.
"It's nice isn't it. Such a contrast to everywhere else back home. No many people know about it up here. A few of the sports teams but no one's here today, they're all off curing their hangovers from last night."
"There was a party?"
"Yeah. I didn't go that's why I didn't invite you." I chuckled.
"Why didn't you go?"
"I went to the gym instead. Watched a movie, did some reading. Just wanted a quiet night. I'm good going out to a few parties a month but I don't need to go to every one."
"Sounds like a good reason not to go." He nodded as we got to what I'm guessing was our destination because he just stopped and looked out. The way he looked to me before walking back to me and picking me up bridal style mad me chuckle without him needing to even move. Cheeky and mischievous. A breathe of fresh air. I giggled, burying my head into his neck slightly as he walked.
"You smell good." His lips moved against the top of my head.
"Really? I wasn't wasting my good perfume if we were swimming. It's just a Victoria Secret spray." I lifted my head up as he stopped at the end of a wooden dock, slowly setting my feet down and moving his hands so they wrapped around my waist again, burying his head into my neck. I had to stand on my tiptoes so he could reach, wrapping my arms around his neck to keep me steady.
"It's good." He nodded into me. We stood like that for a few minutes before he pulled me back. "Anyway. I didn't bring you out here to smell you like a weirdo."
"Are you sure? Seemed like you were pretty happy there." He smirked, grabbing my shirt and pulling me to him. He stared into my eyes as he unbuttoned it. Oh so now we were back to playing games huh? Funny. Strip me off James. Let me see your face when you see this swimsuit. The girls demanded I wasn't allowed to wear anything else other than this one. The high cut legs on it and cute little tie in the front of the top. I looked hot in it. Like really hot. I knew it.
Maybe that's why I just smirked as I let him undress me. I knew he was looking for me to respond. To fight it and give him the sass I knew he loved.
"You're not stopping me." I breathed out once as he looked down quickly then back to me. "Why aren't you stopping me?"
"Because we came here to swim right? I can't do that without getting down to the swimsuit I put on. Plus why would I give you a strip tease." He smirked, resting his hands on my hips. My shirt was open now and I could feel him fighting the urge to look. I rolled my eyes, putting my hands on his and moving them to the front of my pants, moving my hands as soon as they were.
He swallowed. Suddenly seeming like he was nervous which just made me giggle too. I don't know why I wasn't. Why I wasn't shaking or being terrified of him removing my clothes. Maybe I'd been thinking about it all day, planned it with the girls, so I had it all mapped out in my head. I knew what to expect.
I stepped out of my shorts, pulling my arms out of the shirt and dropping that too as he stood there and watched me. I slipped my shoes off, standing there for a second before crossing my arms loosely.
"You okay there James?" He looked up, bright red and I just gave him a short chuckle. "You look a little lost." I could see how heavy he was breathing. He was. His eyes were here, looking into mine but I could see his head was somewhere else.
"I- um- Shit." He chuckled. "Yeah. I'm fine." He quickly pulled his white tee shirt off, throwing it to the floor before looking at my face again. There's that smile. The same one from before. A glimmer of misbehaviour in his eyes.
"Don't you dare."
"Don't I dare what?" He took his shoes off quickly. It's like someone had pressed fast forward on him now.
"I know what you're thinking."
"Oh do you?"
"Yes."
"And what is it?"
"That you're going to-OH MY GOD JAMES." He grabbed my waist, throwing me over his shoulder so effortlessly it literally made my lungs forget to move. He laughed at me, stepping a little further down the dock. "JAMES."
"AVERY." He shouted back. "You're fine."
"Put me down."
"If you insist." He tried to pull me off him but I knew it was coming. I gripped onto the top of his shorts, clinging like my life depended on it. "You're playing again." I laughed as I felt him shrug under me. "Fine. Play the hard way." I bit my lip and watched as the deck disappeared, replaced by cold blue water as we hit it.
He let go of me as soon as we were under, pushing me up to make sure I didn't drown from the unexpected dunk. Once we were both back at the surface, he pulled me back at him, my legs wrapping around his waist. He moved my hair out of my face, both of us laughing softly.
"Freshers starts tomorrow."
"I know." I nodded, biting my lip slightly. "Campus is going to get mad now huh?"
"Yeah. There's going to be a lot of new guys for you to hit on."
"Oh good." I smirked. "Maybe there will be a guy hotter than you that actually does make me cry." He chuckled, shaking his head. "What were you thinking?"
"When?"
"Before, when you were taking my clothes off."
"Other than how you're so much hotter than I thought you were?"
"Well yeah but the blush on your face made that obvious."
"I was not blushing."
"Oh please. There's blushing and then there's whatever you were doing like 5 miles above that." He shook his head, biting his tongue again. "Did you like taking my clothes off James?"
"Are you pushing my buttons again Vee?" I giggled and he raised his eyebrows. "Keep going. I dare you to."
"Oh I'm never one to turn down a dare." I smirked. "You really don't like the thought of another guy touching me do you? Eve told me about you telling all your football friends to keep their hands off me. It's a shame because a few of them are really cute."
"That's it." He moved quickly, holding me above his head. "One more thing. Go on."
"I picked this swimsuit out for you. I have loads of others. But I knew you'd hate this one the most." He bit his lip, looking down at the suit again and I giggled.
"Fuck sake." He smirked. "Go on." He threw me over his head, letting me get my punishment for pushing him too far again. He just made it so fucking easy. How could I not?
