"You're sure?" I asked her as I laid my head on her shoulder. "Like spoke to your parents, organized it?"

"Yep. I'm going home for summer and just coming back here. Dad's spoke to the dean and they're letting me just swap over here. I mean I was taking pretty much the same courses anyway. I might have to catch up a little but yeah. I'll be here at the end of August with you." I smiled, wrapping my arm around her. "I can't explain how much I hate it there Vee. I don't get on with anyone. I'm so singled out because of Penny it's unreal. I don't belong there at all. I'm just about making it through." I sat up and pulled her into a hug.

"A few more months Iz. That's it. We'll go home for holidays and we'll see each other then. it'll be over before we know it." She sighed. "Okay come on. Stop being lazy. If you're joining my team next year you best work your ass off for it." She giggled and stood up, walking over to where the other girls were starting.

"Okay." Caz stood at the front of everyone. She split us into 2 groups. Leaving Izzy with me and her. "Show me what you've got Izzy and that spot next year's yours." Izzy nodded. We loved a last minute tryout. The girls loved her as much as I did and she fit right in with us all. Laughing like she'd been here from the start.

The mini game kicked off, all of us working hard to give everything we needed to to make sure our half won the little spur match. I could see Caz shaking her head as she looked at the other side. I knew what she was thinking. Liv was off her game.

"ISABELLE CLARKE. I BEST NOT BE SEEING WHAT I'M SEEING." We all stopped, spinning around quickly. "Well well well. If it isn't Avery Eden." I rolled my eyes and the girls gathered behind me as I held the ball and walked over to Penny.

"Calm Vee. No fighting." I nodded at Caz as she put her hands on mine and Izzy's shoulders, letting us know she was right there. They always had my back when I needed it. All of them.

"Penelope." I scoffed, looking her up and down. "You're looking.... Single." I couldn't fight my smile. "How is Oscar?"

"Cut the shit bitch." I chuckled as she turned to Iz. "What the fuck are you doing here? You said you were going home for the weekend and you'd meet us here tomorrow."

"Oh. I stopped by a little early to see Vee. That an issue?"

"It is when I see you on the fucking court with the people we're up against tomorrow." She crossed her arms. She had 2 new little minions behind her who copied her stance which was funny.

"Liv, can you grab my phone babe, it's in my bag." I turned my head slightly and Liv nodded, walking to grab it. Caz smirked, knowing what I was doing.

"Chill out Penny. It was playful. Their practice finished like 20 minutes ago. I was on the sidelines." I took my phone from Liv, quickly texting Oscar.

She's here. Volleyball practice gym, if you fancy popping along. She didn't pack light on the attitude.

He saw it immediately and I locked my phone. If he was serious about what he said yesterday, he'd want to spend every possible second proving it to her.

"I don't care if it was playful Isabelle. Its ignorant, rude, disrespectful."

"Don't speak to her like that Penny." I snapped, moving the ball to my hip. "You don't get to speak down to people in this gym."

"Oh don't you even start Avery." I smirked, tilting my head.

"Why not?"

"I fucking knew you were out for Oscar. And somehow you slipped in behind my back and took him. Don't think karma isn't coming for you bitch."

"Karma isn't coming for me Penny. I didn't sneak him out from under you. He came to me. He left Stanford and just so happened to go to the same party as me-"

"Ha you, party." She rolled her eyes and the girls behind me laughed. I pulled out my phone and flicked through the hundreds of pictures I'd taken at parties over the past few months, a lot of them of me covered in hickies, or with James hanging around my waist.

"Yeah. Me. At parties. In fact. I was at one last night when Oz pulled me around the side of the house, picked me up and pinned me to a wall as he pushed his tongue down my throat." Her eyes grew dark as I heard the gym doors be thrown open. "Not a single second in high school did I think about stealing that boy from under you Penny. I didn't want to be that girl. But I couldn't be that girl. I'm sorry he hurt you and everything. I get that was shitty thing for him to do. But you guys aren't together. He came to me. He spoke to me. He left you and came to find me. It wasn't a competition. It wasn't a game. I wasn't playing but you kept saying I was. So now it is."

"Vee-" I looked up, smiling softly at Oscar. "Penny." Stepping back, I let him put his arm around my waist.

"Ozzy-" She looked at the floor and then up at him.

"He hates that nickname." I stated plainly which brought her eyes back to me. I didn't have an issue with her hating me. Nor did I hate making her hate me more. I didn't care if word got back to my parents about this. I'm only doing it to get the attention off Izzy. She doesn't deserve Penny's shit. Penny scowled at me and I looked up at him.

"Right babe?" He nodded, looking back at Penny who was now bright red.

"Fucking babe. What are you two an item?"

"I guess you could say that." I shrugged and he held me tighter.

"What the fuck Oscar. I came here early to talk this over with you."

"I only came in here to watch the girls play. I didn't even know you were here Penny. I used to watch you train all the time. It's nothing new."

"No but having your hands over her is. Of all the girls, you chose her?"

"Yeah. What's the issue? We're not together right?"

"Well yeah-"

"And you cheated on me, multiple times Penny, right?"

"Osc-"

"Right Penny?" Isabelle asked now, stepping forward. "Or are the pictures lying? And have I been seeing things with you walking around with your new boyfriend?"

"Oh there's a twist!" I giggled and everyone looked at me. I grinned which just made my girls laugh. She turned on her heel storming out. "See you on the court tomorrow Penny." She stopped in her tracks. "Make sure you bring your head. You don't want it costing you the game." I smirked as she literally stomped her feet and left. The second the door closed, we all burst into unwavering laughter. Me and Izzy were bent over, hands on each other's knees to support ourselves as we cackled. I could feel Oscar behind me. Maybe bending over in these short shorts with my ass against him wasn't the smartest idea after all.
