"Hey!" I smiled into the camera. "You're not drunk?"

"I am stone cold sober now. I need a distraction. Talk to me."

"A distraction from what?" I blushed, getting into bed. I'd changed before calling her. I did so quickly. trying to sing songs in my head without thinking about him. I'd text Jasper as well, letting him know I was home safe, sober and unharmed.

"Um-" I flicked my lamp on. "I-um."

"He kissed you?"

"I mean yeah but we're not going to talk about that." I chuckled. "How's Stanford?"

"Nope. We're not skipping the fact that you've been there alone for less than a week and you've already met 2 great guys, had a date, and had your first kiss." I held up 2 fingers. "2 KISSES?"

"He kissed me when he picked me up. Not long after I hung up from you. And then just now."

"How were they?" She was grinning ear to ear. Stopping only when her room mate said something. I watched her giggle, grab her earphones and plug them in. "Sorry Vee. Go on. How were they?"

"So freaking good." I laid back in the bed, holding the phone above me as I covered my eyes, biting my lip at the thought of him doing it again. "The first was like hard but gentle you know? But the one just now. Full frontal French kissing then he started kissing my neck and just stopped, stood up and left."

"He left?" She sat up straight.

"I've been pushing his buttons all night Iz." She smirked. "He knows about Jasper so now he's trying to put himself ahead in this race he's made up. That's why he kissed me the first time. I told him Jasper kissed my cheek so he kissed me properly. Then at the party he asked me out, said he had my first kiss and he wanted to have my first date too. What was I supposed to do? Lie to him?" She laughed at me. "So then he got all defensive. He said that I kept teasing him, pushing him right to the brink and then reminding him he's not the only one fighting for my attention and I just moved the conversation on."

"How did you do that?"

"I made him introduce me to the volleyball girls like he promised."

"Oh how'd that go?"

"So good! I've got practice with them on Wednesday. Caz, the captain, was at the final match and she was just slating Penny which is the funniest thing to me."

"She was slating Penny? What because she's shit?" I nodded and she laughed. I looked at my phone as Jasper's text came through.

Oh good. I was starting to get a little worried.
How was it? Did you have fun? Want to call?

"Oh my god. Now Jasper's texting me."

"Isn't it like 2am there?"

"Yeah. He wants to call."

"Oh my god. Okay, text me what he says."

"I don't know if I'm going to let him call. I kind of just want to read."

"So read whilst he's on the phone? Keep your mind occupied from a certain someone's little frisky kisses in the hallway." I groaned, smiling as I looked at her. "Right I'm hanging up so you don't have an excuse. See you Tuesday night?"

"Tuesday." I nodded and let her hang up, turning back to Jasper's texts.

I mean we can do. I'm just going to read in bed.

I watched the ticks turn to read, then his face on my screen. Facetime? Okay sure whatever.

I leaned over, grabbing my book and turning it to the right page where I'd left it before answering.

"Hey."

"Hey. I missed your face so I thought facetime might help me sleep." I gave him a soft smile. "How was the party?"

"Good yeah. I met the girls. I've got a training session with them this week so that'll be fun."

"Were they nice? Did you get on with them?"

"So well. I ended up not leaving their side most of the night. We have a lot in common. I think I'll fit right in which is nice. I got all their numbers, added to their group chats. Really good night all in all." I turned the page looking up at him briefly. "What about you? What did you get up to?"

"Not a lot. There isn't much going on around here at the moment is there?"

"Not really, not unless you really put yourself out there, which is hard for introverts." I raised an eyebrow at him and he chuckled, rolling his own eyes.

"You're not going to let that go are you?"

"That you lied to me over something so stupid? Hell no." I minimised the call, opening up my food app. I was starving.

"So how do I make it up to you?"

"Well, I'll leave that for you to work out. Telling you would make it too easy." I chuckled slightly.

"What are you doing?"

"Reading?"

"You're on your phone doing something. The camera's off."

"Oh." I chuckled. "Trying to order some food but the apps not working for me."

"You're hungry?"

"Starving." I chuckled. "I need to get some snacks to keep in here tomorrow. I definitely can't drive to get anything and I can't be bothered to actually go make something."

"What do you want?"

"You're not getting me food Jasper."

"Why not?"

"Because it's 2am. You should be asleep as it is."

"So should you but here we are. What do you want to eat Avery?"

"Nope."

"I'll just bring you a pizza if you don't tell me." I moved back to facetime, raising an eyebrow at him. "Any allergies? Anything I should avoid?" I shook my head. "I'll be there in 15 minutes." He winked and then hung up the phone. Leaving me at a complete loss for words as I text Izzy.

He's bringing me pizza.
I told him I was looking for a takeout on the app and he just said he'd bring me pizza if I didn't tell him what I wanted and hung up!
What the fuck is my life now lmao

STOP
That's so cute!
This is Jasper right? Spilled coffee guy?

Yeah
My god. What the hell am I going to do?
