Four weeks later...

Emma POV

My training is going well. I am at the clinic most days usually if Daryl is home, he doesn't need to hunt as much now as we have been breeding squirrels, rabbits, and turkeys, the rabbits well they have been breeding up a storm. He still heads out but he probably always will he doesn't like being caged. I come home to the smell of rabbit cooking. I love his cooking.

"Hey, babe. How was work?"

"Well Cathy sprained her ankle, I bandaged it. You know little Rachael she fell and cut her knee it needed to be stitched Denise showed me how to do that. She thinks I'm great."

"That's because you are."

"Momma."

"Hey, Dylan. Have fun today."

"Yes, momma." I picked him up and hugged him.

"Babe I can see Darla and I'm holding Dylan, ah where is Merlynn?" Looking around I can't see her.

"You might wanna go outside." I put Dylan down and head outside, and then I see it. Merlynn is playing in the mud.

"Mom look."

"Sweetie you're all dirty. You haven't eaten any worms have you?"

"Honey if she does it's cool, they are edible."

"I don't even wanna know. You didn't eat a worm did you?"

"You eat what you have to. Like you wouldn't hell woman you eat pig's feet."

"Yes, I do. Merlynn you want to have a bath?"

"No. Wanna play? No bath."

"Merlynn you might be a Dixon, but honey you are a girl, have to get used to being a girl. You aren't a boy."

"I think she's a tomboy."

"You missy will be wearing dresses."

"Em, she can wear whatever she is comfy in. She likes pants or nothing at all. I think she gets the nakedness from you, babe."

Later that night...

"Come on babe it's been seven weeks since you had Darla, I know you want it."

"But I don't want another baby. My body is tired."

"Don't you remember what Eric and Aaron gave you for the wedding? They gave you a tonne of condoms, while we have them no more babies."

"Oh, I don't know. I'm all fat and ugly, I feel like a blimp."

"No, we don't. I'm not about to start now. Fine if you aren't in the mood I'm going to work on my bike." Daryl gets up and walks out of the room. Great now I've pissed him off. I get off the bed and walk into our wardrobe go into the box Eric and Aaron grab a condom and head to the garage. I walk into the garage.

"Emma just go I'm not in the mood for a fight."

"Neither am I. You know what they say make love, not war. I don't like fighting with you, Daryl." I take my nightie off I'm naked underneath, Daryl hasn't turned and looked at me.
