Chapter 41

One year later

Emma POV

So much has changed since I helped deliver Carly and Josh's baby, we had another influx of babies. Michonne had another baby a boy named Michael Andre, Maggie had another boy and named him Herschel, Jessie had a little daughter and named her Samantha, and the biggest surprise was Denise and Tara both were pregnant with different fathers. Denise's son Toby's daddy is Jacob and Tara's daughter Rebecca's daddy is Aaron it was really sweet to watch the two of them together both with their big bellies, I bet sex would've been interesting between them. So I'm an Aunty three times over and will be again when Sasha has her third baby in a few months.

We have had an influx also of people into our town and to our surprise, the army turned up and were surprised that we had established ourselves into a great town, yes I was slightly crazy when I came here, but I now know why Daryl and the rest liked it so much. They wanted us to be part of the wider community as the dead were well officially dead or to an amount which they were able to deal with. They wanted to expand our town into a neighboring one and add more people to make it a real community and we wouldn't have to move they wanted us to create a proper council and they would give us their full backing so we can start to have a thriving community again.

Scud and Daryl's garage has gone from strength to strength. It's so nice to have Daryl come home and he is happy he loves what he does. I've become qualified or at least to the best of society's ability qualified midwife and have delivered every one of the babies that have been born, except for one as it was a c-section as I can't do that.

There have been no more babies on the Dixon front I guess the doc was right and having Patrick and Dalton killed that part of me I'm not even getting my period anymore and haven't for four months now. Whatever they did they did a bang-up job of screwing me up, but I love them even if they did do that. Carly has healed up nicely and has started teaching the kids as Merlynn is old enough to start going to school, she was not happy to be away from mommy at first but now loves going to school Dylan isn't too far from starting as well. Darla well she is all Daryl but looks like mommy she's very shy to the point of mumbling sometimes but she is very smart. The twins are as different as chalk and cheese Dalton is quiet and watches everything and Patrick he runs around and is very talkative always wanting mommy's attention he is just like my sister Jackie used to be with my mom.

I always take the night shift mainly so Daryl can work during the day and I look after the kids while Daryl looks after the kids at night we are quite a team the two of us. Still hot for each other as the day we met, I just have to look at him when I get home unless it's been a long night.

We have been having a bad time of late as there has been an influenza outbreak and a lot of sick people, Enid and Jessie have been helping us as we're having a lot of sick people. I think I'm coming down with it myself I've been feeling off for days I'm exhausted.

"Emma honey you don't look so good."

"I feel like crap, I'm tired and exhausted."

"Have you been coughing or have a runny nose?"

"No cough or runny nose."

"I think we should give you a once over seeming there's no one here?"

"Sure."

"When was your last period?"

"Of I don't remember. Three or four months."

"So no nausea?"

"Nope but indigestion like a mother thou."

"Indigestion huh?"

"Yeah been eating antacids like crazy."
