I made pancakes for breakfast then it was on like gangbusters, we had a very important birthday party to prepare for, Daryl was manning the grill cooking up marinated venison steaks that he and Merlynn caught and I was in charge of salads and the cake yeah I still got it, I'm always surprised by the shit I can do, nails, cakes and delivering babies. I'm still the midwife of choice for most of these girls hell I've delivered most of the children that are coming nearly everyone under six I have had the pleasure of bringing into this world.

I still find it amazing that over nine years ago I thought the world was ending my mom and sister the only family I had besides my brothers were dead, I had no idea how I was going to survive though I was lucky that I knew how to hunt thanks, dad, I've done more than survive I have thrived in this new world, I've met not one but two great men, as far as I'm concerned Merle was a great man. We did love each other and he protected me, he cared more about me than himself, I think he'd be so happy with how Merlynn is turning out she's a beautiful nearly nine-year-old and tough as hell little girl, she can hunt well her father is so impressed, she's a natural-born hunter and she's not willing to back down from a fight at school there was a boy that was picking her saying that her dad was dead and that she was a redneck, according to Carly she got up in his face and said she didn't care that she was lucky as she has two dads and so what she was a redneck better than being an asshole and pushed him to the ground, she made him cry that's my girl, even though she got suspended from school for a week.

Dylan is just like his dad right down to his mannerism he is as old now as Daryl was when his father started attacking him and I look at this little boy who is the spitting image of Daryl but with red hair and I have no idea how a man could hurt such a beautiful little boy he is the sweetest kid and I'm not just saying that because he's my son but he is a good kid, he's so smart and reads oh god the boy loves to read.

Darla is my little princess she's so girlie she hates getting dirty, she's the complete opposite of Merlynn where Merlynn is a tomboy, Darla's a girlie girl, don't exactly know how we are going to be able to teach her to hunt. But we will as we want all the kids to learn just in case the world goes to hell again.
