The next day...

"Okay babe stay safe and I swear I'll be disappointed if I hear you picking up heavy stuff, you aren't supposed to do that unless you want Dylan early."

"Oh like I'm scared of you Daryl. Whatever did women in the dark ages do when they had babies? Get out in the field in plow woman, oh I can't lord I'm having a baby. Oh, suck it up princess have the baby and keep plowing. I'm not a delicate flower, hell Daryl I had Merlynn in the middle of a forest for fucks sake babe."

"I know doesn't mean I don't care about you, don't want you going into early labor now do I?"

"What think you might miss it or something? I'm sure you'll hear me screaming, I think I'll probably wake the dead with my screams."

"I don't want you screaming the thought of you in pain hurts me."

"Maybe next time you'll wear a condom, won't you? Anyway, you got to go, and I'm going shopping. Be safe, I'm more worried about you being out there. You and Aaron stay safe." He leans into me and kisses me. Later on, I met up with Eric, Michonne, and Tara.

"Okay, so which house do we hit first?" We walk around to the empty side of Alexandria.

"This is as good a place as any. Okay, Eric and Emma take the bedrooms, Tara and I will check out down here."

"Emma you should stand behind me there could be a walker in here." Eric pulls out his gun.

"Can you use one of those?"

"Yeah, I've had lessons."

"Whatever you say, mister." We climb upstairs it is clear.

"Okay let's go shopping." We walk into the closet and I'm disheartened the person who lived here was tiny, like me pre-baby tiny.

"Let's find somewhere else I can't fit in any of these."

"Oh, I wouldn't be so sure. I mean yeah maybe not now but if you don't use this I will." Eric pulls out a dress bag. "Please let this be what I think it is. Vera Wang Vera Wang Vera Wang oh miss Wang, oh I didn't think I'd ever see one of these again."

"What are you on about?"

"It's a Vera Wang wedding dress."

"I don't need one. I'm not getting married."

"Sure you aren't maybe Daryl's waiting on the right time."

"Nah he's not the marrying kind, he would've asked me ages ago if he was." 

"Keep telling yourself that princess, I bet he does. Seriously babe wear it. This dress wants to be worn, it needs to be worn and honey when you have this baby you can wear the fuck out of it. Look at it and see." He pulls the dress out of its bag, it is simple yet elegant.

"Oh, Eric it's beautiful. But it's pointless it's like having baby furniture before falling pregnant. You jinx yourself and it doesn't happen."

"I'm serious Emma take the dress, I mean it if you don't wear it I will. I bet I could wear the fuck out of this dress."

"You probably could you are the right size. It would take two of them to fit me."

"Yeah, right now but he isn't marrying you now."

"Daryl isn't marrying me. He doesn't want to be married and if he did it wouldn't be with the likes of me."

"Are you kidding me? Do you hear the crap coming out of your mouth? The man's crazy about you. Daryl loves you, this is all new to him, he has probably never been in love before. Never had someone love him, he's learning all this for the first time Emma. I think overall for a guy who was abused as a child he's doing amazingly well and I think most of that is from you. Your love has changed him, you, and that angel of yours Merlynn."
