Chapter 10

you were lying in bed before you worked up the motivation to get ready for school, when a text from Mikey appeared at the top of your screen.

even if Mikey only gave you a short amount of time to get ready, you were grateful for the excuse to not go to class.

it had been days since you last talked to Haru, Akani or Yuka and you didn't want to see their scrutinizing glares follow you around the school.

you groaned at the screen, hurriedly getting out of bed and throwing your school uniform on, brushing your teeth and combing out your hair.

you then put on some makeup and checked the time; 7 more minutes until they arrived.

grabbing your school bag and stuffing three lollipops and a change of more casual clothes into it, you put on some perfume and rushed down the stairs.

once you reached the bottom, you saw your mother standing at the open front door, talking to two familiar faces.

"yes ma'am, we're friends of y/n's." Mikey spoke, and you came up from behind your mom.

"hey, what's uh, what's happening?" you asked letting out an awkward laugh, scared that your mom might find out they're delinquents.

"oh, morning hun. you're friends just said they were here to pick you up for school. how come you've never mentioned them before?"

"yeah y/n, how come you've never mentioned us before?" Draken said with a sly smirk on his face, earning a scowl from you.

Draken and Mikey just snickered as you talked to your mother.

"it never came up organically. shouldn't you be at work, anyways, mom?" you asked, trying to divert the attention from yourself.

"oh, i'm going in later. i have to go to your school to have a meeting with your principal about your behaviour."

at your mothers words and her pointed look, your face paled, and the boys stopped laughing.

she then smiled, but her eyes showed pure anger. "let me drive you all to school." she stated more than offered, and the three of you silently agreed and walked to her car.

"so much for skipping." Mikey said to you and Draken, just loud enough for only the two of you to hear.

"we don't even go to the same school as you." Draken added, and you just sighed in response.

"just play along guys, i don't wanna get into any more shit than i already am."

the car ride to your school was long and painful, none of you daring to speak a word as the aura that flowed around your mother was scary.
