Inangat ni Robb ang mukha mula sa mismong page ng The Bomb na inilapag ng ama sa harap niya.
He saw his father occupy the middle part of the big leather brown couch in his office. Saka ito tumingin sa kanya. "What kind of announcement was that?"
"What kind of announcement do you want?" natatawang tanong niya dito.
"Son, I know that I told you to get married because it is time. But, I at least, want you to marry for love. Tulad namin ng mama mo at ng iba mo pang kapatid na may mga asawa na. If you haven't find the woman yet. Please, hindi kita pinipilit. Wala sa pamilya natin 'yan. You should only marry for love."
Still smiling. Sumandal siya sa mataas na executive chair. He crossed his arms to his chest and tilted his head. He humorously eyed his father. "With the kind of life that I had? Do you really think na makakatagpo ako ng babaing mamahalin, o magmamahal sa akin ng totoo? Come on!"
"Then don't get married!" he said firmly. Hindi naman malakas ang boses nito. Pero matigas. With finality.
Still, he already planned for everything. He will be getting married this coming Sunday, even if hell freezes over! "But I want to. Mula noong sinabi ninyo sa akin na mas makikita ang pagiging responsable ng isang lalaki kapag nag-asawa na. Pinag-isipan kong mabuti 'yan. And you are right. I want to show you, and the whole world, that I am a responsible man."
"You don't need to show that to me. Napatunayan mo na 'yan sa akin, at makakapaghintay ako. Kami ng mama mo. You don't owe anything to the world. You do not need to please them. Tell me who is that woman?"
He chuckled. "How can I tell you? Hindi ko nga siya nakita nang puntahan ko kahapon sa bahay nila. I have this dread feeling na pinagtataguan niya ako."
He only told his father that he had a dread feeling, when all the while, he already knew it.
Bago pa siya bumisita kina Leila noong isang linggo ay alam niya na ang plano ng babaing pagtakas. And he already had a counter plan with his men.
Puwede hindi niya iyon sasabihin sa ama. He would wait until Sunday. Kaya nga ganoon ang ibinigay niyang announcement. Until this very moment, tinatapos pa nila ang plano.
He knew he had a different plan weeks ago. It was fixed already.
However, seeing an innocent vixen last week changed his fixed plan. She changed his whole damn plan without her knowing.
