Azariah's pov
Most of the time, having enhanced hearing is a great thing. You can eavesdrop on conversations you weren't meant to hear, detect when someone is trying to sneak up on you, and even pick up on subtle changes in a conversation indicating if someone is lying to you.
Today, my enhanced hearing was both a blessing and a curse. When Micah answered his phone, I just happened to be standing beside him. The person on the other end started rambling a mile a minute about an attack on one of the roads we were guarding and the dead bodies they found there.
Micah and I both start running towards the woods without communicating with each other what the plan was. He dropped his phone on the ground, where he stripped down and brought Kihe out.
Ari didn't need to be told twice, and she came forth the second my pants were sliding down my legs. Her paws hit the ground running, and we manage to keep pace with Kihe.
Taking a vehicle would have cost us precious time, plus we can get to where they were posted faster by traveling through the woods.
Jace and Ehron are fine. We would feel it if they weren't.
Of course she's right, the night he got hurt at our party we felt it instantly. But tell my nerves that, because until we see his face in person, I wouldn't be able to relax.
How in the hell did Malcomb find out that they were out here? Kihe asks us through mind link.
No clue. But let's face it, the male isn't exactly stupid. We answer.
Ari? Kihe? Are you guys heading our way? Ehron calls out to us.
Holy shit, he was still a ways away, and we were able to hear him. Maybe in the near future we should see just what kind of range we have. It could come in handy when we go after the fuckers hiding up at the boot camp.
Ehron? Are you okay? What happened? Ari asks him.
Oh you know, just another day in paradise! Both of our road blockaides were attacked. Mine didn't lose anybody but the other one apparently was wiped out. He tells us.
Kihe and Ari pick up the pace, trying to get there faster. It's only now that it dawns on me we forgot to bring our clothes with us.
Hey Ehron, does Jace still have the bag of extra clothes in the truck? Cause otherwise Micah and I will be waltzing around naked.
Of course he does. Show me on werewolf who doesn't have an extra bag of clothes in their car. He chuckles.
When we finally arrive, Jace is back in human form, waiting beside his truck for us. The road is filled with trucks, and people gathered around them. He tosses some clothes at us, so Kihe and Ari dart back into the cover of the woods and shift back.
Now that my heart is calmed down upon seeing our mate, I can focus on what happened here today. My mind was running through all the scenerios, and before I know it, I'm laying on the ground naked.
"Need help getting dressed?" Jace offers his services, not that they were needed.
I sit up and tilt my head in his direction, "I wasn't aware that you knew how to get my clothes on me, I thought your skills were in the removal department,"
