Jace's pov

"Why am I the only one here using my fucking brain today?" Micah glares at me first, then turns his attention on the other four people who were in this section of the jail as well.

Azariah was directly across from me, in her very own cozy cell, trying to use sheer will to melt the bars away so she could escape. Apparently she didn't move fast enough, and Micah caught her trying to leave after making sure her mother was going to be okay. I suppose if I had of just kept my big mouth shut, she'd be up at the old boot camp by now rescuing our pup.

Noah was in the cell next to her, trying to avoid making eye contact with Micah. He got busted coming back in with my tool bag, and immediately put in his own cell. Micah was at least smart enough to realize leaving the two of us alone spelled trouble, so he sent poor Jared over to check up on us. Noah didn't even put up a fight when caught, he dragged his feet a bit to his cell, but that was all.

The biggest shock however, is that Amber landed herself in the cell next to mine. When she got wind of what was happening she marched right over here to see if Micah had lost his bloody mind. The pair of them got into a decent yelling match about Micah's decision to lock us all up.

The pair of them were so focused on arguing on who was more right, that neither saw Matias come strolling in. Somehow, he was able to back them both into the cell, then he slammed the door shut, told us all we were idiots, then left to go back to his mate.

Fast forward twenty minutes, and here came poor Ryan, who was tasked with the unfortunate job of babysitting us all. Micah tried to use an Alpha command to make him open the cell, but that so called command wouldn't work until his father either officially passed down the Alpha command himself, or died. Whichever comes first. So while Micah is the acting Alpha, the ritual of the handing down of power wasn't complete.

So technically, both Micah and Amber were in the cell next to me. Ryan was the only one who wasn't locked up. After a couple hours, he went out and got a chair to sit on, and parked it in front of Noah's cell. No amount of bribes, demands or threats made him even consider unlocking our cells.

Snacks and beverages were brought in by Jared and Adler, and then supper as well. Those males were quick to drop off the items, then raced back out so they didn't have to deal with us.

"Seems to me, like you can dish it out, but can't take it yourself," I chuckle at him. Seeing him behind bars helped take the sting out of being behind one myself. Plus, he's lucky I respect him, and value our friendship. Otherwise, this stunt of his could very well result in a lifelong grudge.

We have immortal blood now, I say you teach him a lesson when we do get out.

As fun as that sounds, beating the crap out of him wouldn't make me feel better. The only thing that would do that, is bringing Xavier home. He's been through way to much for a seven year old. Just knowing that he was probably terrified at the moment makes me feel sick. I should have been there hours ago to get him, not sitting here rotting in this shit hole.

"The only thing I dished out, was saving you from yourself." He turns his narrowed glare back on me, giving Azariah a break.

"I still can't figure out how you think it's your call as to how they go about getting their pup back," Amber snarls at his back. Micah whips around to face her, but whatever he was going to say gets stuck in his throat.
