Aubrey's POV

After the embarrassment I suffered because of Ariana's perverted thoughts and my weak mind, we sat in silence for the next few hours of our journey. I couldn't even think straight anymore due to road exhaustion, but I was glad that Ariana caved in and stopped bothering me. It helped my mind to wander elsewhere. I wondered what Hailey was doing at this time. I wondered where Adam's mate could possibly be. I also thought about my little sister crying over me.

These silly things consumed me for a while and I didn't notice the car stop until Alpha Parker hemmed.

"Are we here?" I asked softly, not daring to turn my eyes on him. I looked around, and the place was deserted, though there was a huge building up front. Well, it's already 3 in the morning, so that might be the reason.

After a few seconds of silence, I looked at him cause he didn't answer. I winced upon meeting his fierce gaze. I could see something flash behind his eyes, but it was gone before I could decipher it in the first place. Was that a murderous thought? Or was he thinking of something else? I guess I'll never really know.

"Yes. We are staying at this hotel for the night. We will continue our venture in the morning," his deep voice confirmed, and I couldn't help but feel a pang of anxiety taking over me.

If that's the case, then it means I'll be staying in the same room with him...

'This is going to be fun.' Ariana practically purred out of nowhere. Seems like she's awake now.

For the time being, I ignored Ariana's comment. I knew she was right. It would be fun if I were into this too, but I have calmed myself down and have agreed that I wouldn't be submitting myself to this man I barely knew. I had too many undealt feelings threatening to come out. I don't know if I'd ever move on if Alpha Parker really ended up forcing me.

Without speaking, I turned to the door and unhooked the seatbelt, storming out of the car. The cold wind brushed against my skin as I looked up at the huge building in wonder. I had never stayed in a luxury hotel like this. I have stayed in cheap inns and local apartels, but never a hotel.

The other black vehicles that had been following us all this time also parked on both sides, and two men hopped out of each vehicle. I guess these were his bodyguards since they looked capable and strong enough to throw me off the ground.

Shaking my thoughts away, I went to the back of the car to get my luggage, but Alpha Parker was already there, getting it for me.

"It's okay. I can just—"

"Hush." He cut me off with a single word, which made me pause. Fine, if that's what he wants, then I won't help.

After that, we made our way inside the hotel in silence. I felt my gut clench as Alpha Parker stopped at one of the rooms and opened the door for me to enter. As expected, he followed me inside. Great, we're really sharing a room. Granted, there are two beds in front of me right now, but I have never shared a room with another man, so my discomfort showed. Looking ahead, I watched silently as Alpha Parker placed my suitcase in the far corner of the suite.

"Alpha Parker?" I called his name hesitantly, my words sounding so soft as if a trembling cat. If I were going to live with this man, I would need to be more assertive, or else he'd bully me into submission.

"Yes?" He responded, looking back at me with a raised brow. I didn't know why, but the way he looked at me made my stomach churn and the dirty thoughts return.

"A—Are we both staying in this room?" I asked hesitantly, resisting the urge to cringe as his expression turned dark.

"Why not? We're mates, after all." His deep voice confirmed my hunch, and I knew he was determined to stay. I suddenly felt the intense urge to leave the room, but my feet and heart wouldn't let me. I desperately needed to take a breather, regardless of what my instincts urged me to do.

"Yeah, I guess..." I responded, scratching my nape. Without saying another word, he came to one of the beds and sat down, taking his shoes off. Meanwhile, I walked forward and pulled my suitcase to open it. I rummaged for my sleepwear and settled on wearing a black tank top with a cyberpunk design. I paired it with a pair of white pajamas. Then, I headed toward the bathroom, ignoring the stare of the man before me.

However, before I could even turn the knob, he spoke. "Where are you going?" His voice sent shivers down my spine, making my core water. If it wasn't Ariana placing perverted thoughts in my head, it was my own damn instincts. I knew if I pushed too hard, I would end up fucked and no longer innocent.

Taking another deep breath, I stated, "I'm taking a shower." I made sure to make my tone sound authoritative, hopefully confirming that I wasn't asking for permission. Without looking into his stormy eyes that could easily draw me in, I retreated into the bathroom like the coward I was. "Hoo..." I heaved as I got inside.

Looking around, I was stunned with awe, marveling at the grand bathroom of this hotel.

I turned the water on in the shower and made my way to the mirror. As expected, my face looked a little dim. I still haven't accepted the reality I am facing right now. In fact, I feel like I'm dreaming. Every step of the way, I'm hoping that this isn't true and I am still the same unmated werewolf peacefully living with her family.

'If I hadn't attended the ball, would things turn out my way?' I asked myself, sadness evident on my face.

"No. You are born to be a Luna. This is your life, no matter how much you hate it..." Ariana chimed inside my head, making me feel even worse. While I trusted the Moon Goddess, I couldn't help but wonder why she made my fate like this. Helping lead and run an entire pack seemed almost impossible for a puny girl like me. With a sigh, I stripped off my clothes and hopped into the shower. The hot bath helped me clear my head. It was refreshing that even Ariana purred in delight.

Once I was finished and felt less flustered, I got dressed, dried my hair, and made my way out of the bathroom. I did my best not to look at Alpha Parker on my way out, but my stupid instinct fought back and made me turn to him. At that moment, I could feel the heat rush to my face. He was laying on his bed while scrolling on his phone, shamelessly shirtless! He's wearing nothing else other than a pair of loose shorts. It took all of my willpower to keep my jaw from dropping to the floor. Earlier, I wanted to see his tattoo, and I got a full frontal view of it now.

As I digested the scene, I couldn't help but notice how flawless his body was. I expected him to be coated with battle scars, but his skin was flawless and seemed smooth to the touch. His tattoo made him way hotter than he should be too. My eyes lingered on the intricate detail. It was a snake that spiraled around one of his pecs, up to the side of his neck, and down to his abdomen. My fingers twitched, wanting to trace the pattern on each protruding muscle proudly gleaming against the nightlight.

Just then, he turned to me. "You're done?" his deep voice questioned, making my knees weak.
