As expected, I woke up that morning with a clear mind. No nightmares occurred to me, and I was so thankful for that. I looked next to me and Parker was still asleep. He looked so good even with his eyes closed. That seems unfair.
"Aubrey, you gotta start concealing your thoughts more," he suddenly spoke with open eyes, making me jolt.
"What the—" I grumbled as I almost fell to the floor. Thankfully, he was quick to react and held my wrist, pulling me closer to him. My heart skipped a beat as his face got closer, our lips almost touching.
"Be careful," he mumbled.
"I'm f—fine," I answered and pulled my hand away and turned away, running through his door to avoid further questions. When I reached the hall to my bedroom, I came across Kyra.
"Aubrey!"
"Y—Yeah?" I answered nervously as she came forward. She had a small paper bag in hand and she handed it to me.
"Here. I bought it for you as a gift! Come on, try it." I looked inside the paper bag and saw that it was a white sunday dress and the same colored high heels. My eyes widened. I rarely wear girly clothes like this! Why would she give this to me?
"Uhm, I don't think—" I was about to reject the gift she gave but her face suddenly lit up. "Oh my gosh, Aubrey! I have an idea!"
"Idea?"
"Yes, a makeover!" she excitedly squealed and pulled me inside my room without waiting for my approval. "W—Wait—" I tried to resist, but she just happily shrieked, "Gosh! He's going to lose his mind."
...
"Are you done yet?"
"Y—Yeah..." I said and heaved whilst looking at the mirror. Granted, this dress highlighted my curves, but I still feel pretty insecure. Nonetheless, I had no choice but to come out and show the excited Kyra.
"Oh my gosh! You look so perfect," she commented with a stunned face as I got out.
I looked down in shyness and said, "T—Thanks. By the way, why did you buy me this? Is there an occasion?"
"Oh, yup. It's Parker's fifth year being the alpha. There's a gathering later."
"Wait, what?" I asked in surprise. "He didn't tell me about this..."
Kyra's face contorted into a sorry frown. "Oh... Uhm, I'm sure he just didn't want you to feel forced into going."
"Is that so?" I asked with curiosity.
"Yeah, but let me tell you this. The entire pack has been dying to meet you. Technically, everyone expects to meet you there."
Upon hearing that, I felt my stomach churn. "I see..." I fumbled and looked ahead, thinking deeply about what to do. Granted, the thought of becoming a Luna still terrifies me, but I have to embrace this life once and for all.
"I think it's time I meet the pack," I said to Kyra after thinking things through, and her face lit up.
...
"Okay, you can go, but there's a teeny tiny problem. You have to tell Parker about this first. I'm not sure if he's actually going to agree. After all, he didn't tell you." Those were Kyra's words after I agreed to come. And so, I'm now in front of Parker's office, still wearing the dress and shoes with some light makeup.
However, I paused momentarily as my hand reached the wooden door. I was about to knock, but I found myself questioning whether I could really handle this immense pressure. This night, I will be meeting the supposed most-vicious pack of werewolves. But first, I have to ask the alpha for permission. It's crazy just thinking about it.
"Tch, there's no turning back now!" I convinced myself and finally knocked.
"Come in." I heard his husky voice saying. And so, I opened the door and came in.
"Oh..." I mumbled upon seeing another man inside with him. As far as I know, it was Beta Gabriel.
Parker was sitting on his swivel chair behind a wooden desk, his tight shirt hugging his built figure. Though he seemed frustrated at first, the expression on his face quickly changed to a calm one.
I then looked at the Beta Gabriel and almost felt like I had met the most vicious werewolf to ever exist. He just has a very intimidating vibe. Maybe it was because of the scar that ran down his neck and under his shirt. Still, he smiled graciously at me, which eased my apprehension a little.
"What are you doing here?" Parker asked with pursed lips, his gaze hovering all over me. Wow, it seems like this dress is doing wonders. Maybe I'd get him to agree.
"I wanted to talk to you." I said indifferently and walked forward, sitting on the chair in front of him as I crossed my legs.
"Leave us." Parker commanded his Beta, his eyes still roaming my body as it gets darker every second.
"Alright, have fun," Beta Gabriel snidely commented, which made me shake my head. I could see him smirking as he walked out the door, but I didn't point it out anymore.
The thud of the door echoed, and the room was rendered silent. Trying my best to not be affected by Parker's gaze, I looked out the window.
However, I suddenly heard him growl the words, "Come here."
Although I didn't agree, my feet stood up on their own and I made my way towards his desk. As I reached his front, he suddenly snatched me and made me sit on the desk.
"I like your dress," he commented with a smirk, his hand hovering along the hem of my skirt, seemingly wanting to touch me.
"I d—do too," I stuttered in distress.
"Hmm... What did you come here for?" He asked with a sly smirk, leaning against his chair and crossing his dainty arms. To be honest, I found that hot as fuck.
I couldn't help but lick my tongue at the view, which made him chuckle. So, I shook my dirty thoughts off and got straight to the point.
"Kyra told me about the gathering tonight."
Almost immediately, Parker's smile turned into a condescending frown. "And?" he asked in a disapproving tone. I didn't even ask yet!
"I want to come."
Upon hearing my words, he inhaled a heavy one and said, "I don't think that's a good idea."
"I know, but I want to meet everyone."
"You've only been in therapy for a week. Don't you think this would cause you so much distress? This is the Blue Moon pack, and although I am the Alpha and you'd be the Luna, things are rather complicated," Parker said.
Luna... Indeed, I'm his Luna. I have to be strong.
"I know that, Parker, and I'm not afraid." My eyes shoot narrow with determination, and I can see him gulping in apprehension. So it seems, Alpha Parker is afraid of something.
I could feel his worried self. It was pretty obvious that he was afraid to introduce me as his Luna. Perhaps, he's scared that if I meet everyone and I reject him, his reputation will be tarnished. I snickered at the thought and quickly realized that I might've been acting on impulse.
Still, I'm determined now. I confidently slid down his desk and walked back to the door. "Silence means yes, Alpha Parker. I'm your Luna, whether I like it or not, I can't hide forever."
I was about to exit his office because I believed that silence means yes, but his last words doused me in cold water.
"So, you're accepting me now, huh?"
