Parker's POV

Upon nearing the questionable mansion in the middle of the woods, I tasked my men to slow down and scout the area. Upon looking around, I realized that this location was ideal for a hunter's safe house. It's completely out of any werewolf pack's range. The city center is conveniently far away too. With that, my team shifted back to their human forms, including me.

After minutes of scouting, the tracker approached me and asked, "What are your orders, Alpha?"

I turned to him and looked at the others, only to see their expectant gazes. I couldn't be more thankful for their support, if I'm being honest.

Looking at the mansion before us, I flashed a scowl and let out a fierce hiss. "Kill anyone who will come your way, but if you see Dennis, capture him instead. I want him alive. Lastly, make sure the safety and whereabouts of your Luna is your top priority. Understand?" I asked, and they all quietly answered back with a determined yes.

"If so, let the bloodbath begin."

I walked ahead and kept my hand up, waiting for a while before silently giving them the signal to attack. Scouting the mansion, I watched as a big man walked around the porch. When he turned around for a brief second, I signaled everyone to move and I was the first one to lunge forward.

I jumped through the bushes and across the yard before reaching the man's back. It was too late when he saw me. "What the—" he muttered as he faced me before I dug my nails against his chest. I kept him in place while I mightily pinned his torso with raging eyes.

"Where is my Aubrey?!" I growled louder than ever, my nails clawing him deeper, and I could feel blood gush out of him.

I sensed that he was about to scream for help, so I leaned closer and whispered, "Don't you fucking dare."

Fearing for his life, the man stuttered, "I—Inside!" Upon getting what I wanted, I only hemmed and slashed his throat with one clean cut, rendering him dead in an instant.

Of course, I left his body there. This is a declaration of war, after all. As I looked at the main door, Aubrey's helpless face dominated my mind, and I grew even more vicious.

As we made our way next to the door, I sensed about a dozen men lurking around, all of them looking ready to fight. They obviously knew we were coming. Without warning, I kicked open the front door and launched myself at the closest human I saw. The rest of my men followed suit in an action-packed manner, of course.

Whilst fighting them, I was completely in the zone. I killed everyone that came my way with no difficulty. I enjoyed the scent of the bloody scene and the sound of the murderous screams. I even laughed as they tried to fight us off in a frantic manner. They were no match for us with their pesky little guns and spears. Roger had a wonderful time shredding our opponents with glee. We both knew that the more hunters we killed, the closer we were to saving Aubrey.

Admittedly, I was lost in my instincts. Only when I felt the tracker holding my shoulder and assuring me that everyone was down did I ever snap out of it.

When I looked around, seeing the carnage didn't bother me at all. I only nodded at my tracker as another one of my men said, "Alpha, I have searched upstairs."

I growled at his delay. "And? Did you find Dennis? Is Aubrey here?"

He shook his head. "No, Dennis isn't here. He probably fled, but I could smell the Luna's scent all over a locked door. It would be best if you check it yourself." Without wasting a single second, I ran upstairs, some of my men following me while the others explored other areas to deal with remaining enemies.

We took twists and turns and finally got to the hallway one of my men was talking about. "Her scent is right there, Alpha!"

I ran even faster to reach it in a split second and the scent of my lovely Aubrey wafted inside my nose. With no hesitation, I knocked the door down using my immense strength. The door crashed to the ground, and my eyes searched the room frantically, half-expecting to find nothing there. However, it seemed like this time was different.

I froze in my spot as immense warmth swarmed my heart.

"Aubrey...." I called her name upon meeting her captivating yet tired eyes.

I raced towards her in no time and pulled her into a tight, but gentle embrace. At that moment, relief flooded through me. I couldn't believe that she was really here. "Aubrey..." I whimpered, tears falling over my cheeks.

"P—Parker..." she called back, her voice breaking. I pulled away and watched her face. I couldn't help but sob like a girl when I saw how much struggle she was in. Though my heart was happy since she was here, I was intensely raging on the inside because of her state.

What have they done to my mate? They will fucking pay!

"I'm so sorry if I took so long..." I said and kissed her forehead. She was tearing up as she answered, "It's okay. I knew you would come, anyway."

I nodded while biting my lips to let the girlish whimpers hold back. "I will. I will find you even if it leads to my death. Aubrey, I love you."

She huffed and I felt that she was having a hard time breathing. Still, she managed to answer, "I—I love you too, Parker."

With that, I seized her lips, closing my eyes and savoring the moment of our reunion. I breathed in her scent with intensity and promised I would never let this happen again. "You're never leaving my side again," I said after I pulled away.

She smiled back at me and said, "As if I'd let you..." Then, he held my cheeks, saying, "I'm happy you're well, but did you find Dennis? I want to be the one to kill him, Parker."

I sniffed in disappointment. We didn't find him because he was no longer here, and I have to be honest with my mate. "W—We didn't, but I promise you that I will do everything in my power to seize him. Sooner, you will end his life, okay?"

She looked at me with an expectant gaze and nodded with a smile. After that, I carried Aubrey away from that hellhole. Though she's saved, I know that the enemies are just starting. I still have to be prepared.

After a while, we got inside the car and we started our drive back to the pack mansion. I need to be with everyone at this crucial moment. I looked beside me and saw Aubrey's peaceful sleeping face. I couldn't help but smile as I wrapped my arms around her shoulders.

Upon brushing her hair away from her face, she snuggled into my chest. It was the best feeling in the world. Just then, she briefly looked up at me with a sleepy gaze. "Sorry, did I wake you?" I asked.

She shook her head and mumbled, "N—No... I just remembered that I have something important to tell you."

"It's okay, Aubrey. It can wait. Have some rest first."
