Obviously, I'm not as girly as I'm supposed to be. I've always liked boyish stuff, and it all boils down to my closeness to Wesley. I can't exactly say that I hate the idea of dress shopping, but every now and then, it's nice to feel beautiful.

Hailey, on the other hand, radiated pure chic-ness. She's a fashionista in many ways, and it sometimes makes me cringe. Nonetheless, she knows her thing.

Like right now, for every dress I pick up, she says something negative.

"Too dull!"

"That's for old women!"

"Aubrey, that belongs to the boy's section!"

I rolled my eyes and had enough after about an hour of picking out dresses to wear for the stupid ball. "Oh, for God's sake. Just pick one out for me!" I yelled snidely and sat down beside Adam, who was sitting on one of the couches with an ice cream in his hand.

"Great. That's what I've been planning all this time!" Hailey said, and I rolled my eyes.

After the never-ending stream of advice and comments that I couldn't help but be grateful for, Hailey began choosing dresses for me.

"Here, try this pink one!" Hailey gave me a baby pink body con that was enough to make my eyes squint. The color and the fit, I disliked it. Why do women like wearing such tight outfits? I find it utterly uncomfortable.

"Seriously, pink?" I ask sarcastically, but instead of getting an answer, she shoves me into the fitting room.

"Just wear it and stop complaining!" I rolled my eyes again and just did what she asked.

After putting it on, I came out of the fitting room and presented myself to my friends. The surprise on their faces was evident that I was not sure how to react.

Adam's smirk illuminated my view, while Hailey's excited squeal made my ears almost bleed. "This is it, Aubrey! That dress is perfect."

"You sure? I don't trust your opinion because you're way too girly for my taste," I commented with a teasing smile, and she laughed whilst hitting my arm.

"I'm telling you the truth, dumbass! Right, Adam? Doesn't she look good in this fit?" Hailey turned to Adam as she asked that.

I looked at my only male friend and saw a spark in his eyes. I was weirded out by the blushing on his face, but I shrugged it off at the same time he looked away. "Yup! That's definitely the one. Don't trust me though, I have impeccable taste," he said and shot me a side-eye.

I heaved and lowered my shoulders. I guess that sums it up. It's not like I care about how I look tomorrow. "Alright, then. I guess I'll just wear this tomorrow."

"What? No!" Hailey's sudden process made me look back at her with a confused gaze.

"Why? You guys said that this is the one."

"Duh? That's not how shopping works! We're far from over! Come, let's try some more dresses. You really don't know anything!" she reprimanded and shoved me inside the dressing room again. I yelped in bafflement, but I was left with no choice. In the next few moments, Hailey made me try hundreds of different dresses, gowns, and shoes. My vision was already spinning by the time we finished, but that wasn't what piqued me. Because in the end, Hailey agreed that the best out of all the dresses I tried on was the first pink one.

Meaning, we just wasted time! They should've let me check out earlier!

...

When we finished changing and purchasing our gowns, we decided to eat out first, and after that, we drove home right away. Adam had been quiet the entire ride home, and I couldn't help but wonder why. He's really talkative, and it's one of his charms. However, I refused to ask him the reason for his silence because it was simply not my place to boggle him.
