Chapter 15: Dog Fight cont.
"What do you mean, training?" Naki looked from his brother to Sega, who stood in front of him, looking at him as if he were some problem that had occurred and they couldn't figure out how to solve it. He eyed them both wearily, wondering why they blocked his path like persistent guard dogs. They'd been standing there for a good while, just looking at him, tilting their heads, and making inquisitive noises. It started to annoy Naki. "Hello?"
Rafeo glanced towards Sega. "Speech should be first, posture, etiquette, and then grooming."
Sega nodded, "definitely the grooming and etiquette." He stroked his chin thoughtfully. "I will have to announce him at council this season, so he'll have to be up to speed by then."
"He has bad habits to break. This will take more than a month."
"I don't expect him to be fully trained by mating season's start, but I do expect him to be better than what he is now."
"What?" Naki's head tilted, and his silver brows furrowed over his eyes as he stared them down. "Training? What are you two talking about? You better not be talking about me." What was he, somebody's pet?
"You, from now on until the mating duel, will spend all of your time with me preparing to be the mate of our future King."
Naki's brows lifted, offense clearly written on his face. "Excuse you." His nose wrinkled in dislike. "Who do you two think you are? Training? To mate?" He turned his head away, "it's not me who made this situation complicated." He steered his eyes towards Sega. "I don't want to train for anything."
"It's not an option, Naki," Sega answered sweetly, except the way he said everything had an eerily cool behind it. It made the comment seem icy.
Naki felt bad for disobeying his Prince, but to train him to be some future Royal? Even the Mountain King had left until the time came for his return, and he had said nothing about training him.
Sega showed some real confidence in his ability to win the duel. For him to add demands to the fact that he'd forced himself into the situation was indeed ballsy.
Naki made a sound of dislike, turning his eyes away again as a way of voicing to Sega that, if he wanted him for any logical reason, he sure as hell wasn't showing it.
"No protest, Naki?" Rafeo chuckled. "I need to have you over more often," he mused, turning to Sega. "Now, should we start by doing something to that mop on his head?"
Naki grabbed protectively at his hair, covering the slightly overgrown tresses with his hands. He wasn't the best at grooming himself, and he usually didn't brush it out after a bath, so his hair had been looking more like tufts of fur on his head lately. What did it matter, though? He didn't have everyday duties that he needed to look nice for.
"You aren't doing anything to my hair, either of you! I like my hair!"
"You look like a flat girl with that hair," Rafeo countered his brother. "From behind, anyone could mistake you for a female."
"I do not! I'm getting muscles! You even said that most guys my age were small until they hit their growth spurt! Were you lying to me?"
"You have a long way to go before you hit any spurts, Naki," Sega answered, amused by the mere notion. Naki would look quite disturbing with huge muscles and his face, which had more features from his mother than his father, no doubt. Perhaps if he grew taller, he could fill out proportionately, but for now, Sega preferred him to stay the lithe little thing. It'd be far more arousing with Naki as is than if he...
