Chapter 66: Tug-of-War Part 2

"Rules of the game are simple," Sane lounged back in the dark red chair he'd chosen to occupy. "Anyone can pick another person and give them an ultimatum. It's just one thing, don't start saying shit about the technicalities of the definition of the word. We've already been there and done that. Anyway, propose your bet, or for those of you who are slow at comprehending, give them a challenge you believe they won't be able to or be willing to do."

Green eyes zipped from face to face, "your honor as a man is being staked by entering the game. Of course you can back out, but if you're treated like a pissing pup from here on, you'll know why. Of course, we have to keep things elegant. No ultimatum can maim or, you know, kill. If the ultimatum involves another person, it must be consensual. Well, other than that, I think it's pretty much fair game."

"And if the ultimatum isn't consensual," Nathan questioned, staring at Naki across the table. "Then what?"

"Then you pick another ultimatum, dumbass," Sega rolled his eyes from his chair. Aiden squeezed in next to him on the matching red loveseat trimmed in gold. He had his legs over Aiden's thigh and he dared the nobodies to question the King rubbing up and down his calves. "But unless it just can't be done, those of us who are bold enough to play the game, play it for the risk of the ultimatums. Don't worry, no one here is shy."

Nathan peered behind Sega at the quiet booth. "Cerise, this is a game for men. Will you not join?"

"I currently identify as other because the category of man seems exhausting, Nathan. Also, that's Prince Cerise to you because I don't like you and you calling me in a personal manner makes me gag."

Nathan chuckled, "the entire damn family is dramatic. Aren't you a little too put together for a son who found out he has a murderous mother?"

"Cerise wouldn't weep for a criminal. Now avert your attention and shut the fuck up so we can start. Another rule, before every turn, we spin this dagger." Sega sat a huge bottle down on the table. "This is Moon Wine, the strongest liquor you'll ever have. The dagger lands on you, you drink."

Naki looked over at his mates. Where was this rule when they decided they all wanted some unsupervised chaos? Aiden's brows rose, telling Naki this was a twist for him, too.

Moon Wine was dangerous, it was like alcohol laced with liquified drugs. The inebriation was intense. If Naki did have to drink, he'd be out on his face.

"Something wrong," Nathan purred, his smile curving mischievously. "Already want out Naki, over a little booze? Has the baby never had good drugs?"

The word drug caused Naki to dig his claws into the arm of his chair. "You already know that answer, Nathan."

"Why would I know? You think you hold that much interest to me? You don't."

"I'll remind you," Naki bit out through clenched teeth. "Lord Sane, you said you'd start us off?"

"I'll play too." For the first time Sylas opened his mouth, his light eyes already had a gleam which said whatever sweet smell he exhaled already had an effect. "I have a bone to pick with our new Elites."

"You're going to play our vulgar game," Valas stared his mate in the face, his hand on the side of Sylas' ass, enjoying the ridiculously supple feel of his skin.

Sylas leaned into his space, mouth whispering something into his ear, and his dark green brows rose higher and higher. He blinked slowly, topaz eyes sliding to the man named Ryker. "Huh. Is that right?"

The burly man with skin the color of wet soil and low cut hair turned his eyes away. The Prince's expression didn't change, but his eyes certainly did. It was like watching a snake morph into a dragon.
