Chapter 54: Bad Dog Origins Part 1

Naki gently prodded the door to his bedroom open. He'd been out all night, but it seemed like an eternity. He had neither slept the day before and it was nearly dawn now. His eyes were dark, and he wasn't sure how much he could sleep after what he'd just heard.

Silently he moved towards the bed and there was a lamp still on, turned down low. Pink lips tinted with a soft brown pursed at the scene in bed.

It was annoying enough that the two had gone at it like deprived animals, but here they were, cuddled up with each other as they slept.

Naki huffed. He glanced around the room. There was the couch, he could sleep there. There was also Sega's room, but the thought of what the two had done earlier made him shiver. Nope, he was not getting in that bed.

"Is it petty to sleep on the couch?" Naki mumbled to himself.

"Naki?" Aiden's groggy voice sounded, which naturally caused Sega to stir as well. The other sleepily raised his head, still irritatingly handsome, even dazed with sleep, hair wild. Aiden pushed aside the gold lock that always fell onto his forehead. "You're just coming in? What were you doing so late?"

Naki said nothing, only eyed Sega, who was shirtless and bathed in the soft yellow light from the lamp. Naki frowned, glaring at the man.

Sega seemed to realize just what kind of situation they were in, because he had the decency to look embarrassed. "Ah... this is uh... right, I should return to where I belong."

Aiden looked between the two sheepishly, not sure what to say. Naki's expression looked less than pleased. He had told Sega he was welcome in his bed and they could face Naki when the time came. Things were always easier said than done. He opened his mouth to speak as Sega moved to untangle himself from the covers.

"Don't bother Sega," Naki's voice sounded in the room and both older men looked at each other in concern. To say Naki sounded sour was an understatement.

Sega sighed, "Naki, this is your bed, I don't plan on..." Sega's words trailed off as Naki began to discard his clothing, stripping down to only his briefs.

"It's almost daylight. Just go back to sleep." Naki tried to sound cool despite the quiver in his voice as he climbed into the big bed beside Aiden. He glowered at the scruffy face, watching him nervously. "What Aiden? Don't say or ask me anything complicated. I'm very sleepy and grumpy. Do you want to start something?"

It tempted Aiden to do something very bold, but instead he only gave Sega a silent look of surprise and slight suspicion. Sega gave him an equally odd look, unsure if he should really stay or go.

Naki's fiery voice rang out again, "hurry and turn out the lamp and share some cover."

Both men could not help but follow the instructions of the very demanding voice, daring them to do otherwise.

Morning was quickly upon them, two of the bed's occupants having slept fitfully while the other had not. Naki stirred in irritation. The beginning of his sleep had been fitful, at least. Now he was hot and cramped. How, when the bed was so ridiculously massive and the sheets were made of the finest and coolest material?

Naki felt flesh against his cheek. It was hard and sturdy. It could only be Aiden. Sometimes he found himself cuddling up to the man, but he slept wild, so he often ended up sprawled over one half of the bed. His legs could specifically not sprawl, and he felt irritated at being blocked in. Who dared to stop his bed rest? Annoyed, Naki's body turned in the other direction... to only meet more flesh.

A dual toned eye popped open, groggily looking at the expense of skin plastered to his face. It was pale and smelled good, but it was not a part of his normal routine.
