Chapter 24: Alpha or...?

Rahiiv looked towards Kiala, who sat propped up in the room that was given to them. It matched the Cloud colors, they painted each suite of the hall to represent each Pack. They lined the walls with soft lavender, gold, and gray accents, and a splash of teal. He thought she would do better outside, where she could be amongst nature and restore a good amount of energy to at least be up and about. She seemed to want to hide in the shelter of closed-off walls. He sat half-slumped himself, head propped up on his hand, as he eyed her lazily from the far side of the room. She had banished him to the corner. Her anger from earlier was still very evident. He smirked. He had to learn when he pushed her buttons too much.

"And just what are you smiling at over there?" Kiala's eyes were closed, but she could feel Rahiiv's gaze on her. It was that lazy one that irked her most of all. "Do I have to forbid you from looking at me, too?"

"I'm just excited, that's all. You are indeed a big sibling, and I find it utterly adorable."

Kiala's eyes flew open as silver brows set over her two-toned eyes. "Do you have a death wish, Rahiiv!" She rolled her eyes. "I see you have taken a liking to him. I know you. I forbid you from revealing anything to him. If I choose to indulge the information, he will have a half-brother and nothing else."

"Sister, brother, what does it matter? I think he'd just be happy to know that he isn't alone in this world. Plus, if Kiala is someone I get to keep to myself, I won't complicate things with details."

Kiala scoffed. "Well, now I'm going to do it, since you made it disgustingly cheesy. What details, I'm not some rare commodity."

Rahiiv lounged further in the chair, his legs hanging over the side. "It's rare for siblings to both be Infirti, isn't it? It's like, shouldn't it skip many generations?"

"It's happened a few times. The Field King has two sons with the condition. That boy and his mother were sent away far before I could know anything about him, but being an Infirti is a hard fact to overlook. It wasn't in the records."

Rahiiv peered at Kiala. She had her eyes close and she was talking more to herself than to him. Still, her words left him beyond curious. "Kiala... What are you getting at? And... do you know why Naki and his mother lived here instead of our home?"

Kiala said nothing, but Rahiiv could see that her jaw clenched for a brief moment. "It's irrelevant. Now be quiet. I am trying to rest. Do not bring up the boy anymore. I've had enough of him for one day."

"The time is getting near. We have most of the elements needed to implement the plan. We see now that Naki is indeed from the Cloud pack. Well, the doubt lay in if he had power or not. He felt completely void of it. I have the biggest source of their power tucked away for the last step of our plan and the child will do for snippets of power in the meantime. You know your job. I don't care what you have to do, but you will play nice. He better adore you by the end of this. He will be willing to submit to your every will. From force or by choice. I need offspring, Sega, and I need them now. The more that can be made, the better. Do not mess up twice. There will be no other time than now."

Leiodus turned to his son, his blue eyes narrowed. "Also about the Mountain King. I could use him on our side. I could use the territory under my control. Its geological location is immaculate. You and he used to dally about, didn't you? Don't think I've forgotten what you liked to fuck, Sega. I don't know how you plan to do it, but he is either with us or against us." Leiodus raised his brow, a smirk appearing on his lips. "And if he is against us, then you know what needs to be done. The Mountain Pack will be usurped sooner or later. I'll let you decide which that is."
