May I say this is probably the only time a woman has ever given me a boner?”

Sylas rolled his eyes as Valas hugged his waist. Gods, he couldn’t wait to see Cerise again. He only got to talk to Leion for a short time and the high end district held plenty of gossip. He needed far more catty interactions, and his mate did not count. Sega hated him, and while the Queen seemed phenomenal, he doubted she gossiped.

He held little interest in this whole fight to prove they were worth helping. Like, the Queen had the right idea. Her points were fair. She didn’t have to help. However, if the man that said he could take out the thing that wanted to take over the world asked for help, he wouldn’t say no.

But Kialis seemed like one powerful bitch and this far, the Queen embodied having the upper hand. She was certainly milking shit, but so would he.

“I’m more surprised you weren’t amused by the collected King going to bash in the Queen’s jaw so casually. I take it we are all silently agreeing not to react like drama phenes as a collective?”

“Yes, now shut up. We’ll gossip about it later,” Riel interjected.

“The Mountain is so boring,” Valas drawled. “I want to fight and show off. Would it be obnoxious to suggest a tag team?” Valas yipped and rubbed at his hip. “I think Leo just zapped my ass.”

“I would too,” Sylas sighed. “Why is it business before social? What is this fight proving that Sega can kick ass?”

“I don’t know,” Thorn admitted. “I’ve never doubted that man in my life. My eyes opened, and he said follow me and I almost said yes, daddy. But the other guy is giving come hither, let me hand you this ass kicking.”

“Kinda gives off the same vibe as Sega,” Liathan agreed. “I’m not doubting Sega! I’m just saying this might make him work hard.”

Sega focused on the man who stood calmly across from him, bright eyes glancing around his frame analytically. Sega would know. He’d already done the same thing. His mouth ticked slightly. This wasn’t going to be some showboating opportunity. This Luxiem character meant business. A Queen as predatory as Kialis would not send some laughingstock out to shame her.

Luxiem took an offensive stance, two glittering amethyst blades appearing in his grip. They were long and slender in the hilt and base of the blade. The curve of the sword made a gradual expansion as it curved towards its wielder, narrowing at a sharp angle and then curved forward at a tapered tip. Sega’s brows cocked. A dual wielder? Those blades looked like he’d feel like a fish if he got sliced.

Luxiem brought the hilts of the blades together, two turning into one long weapon. Sega sighed. Things were starting to get creepy there for a moment. A Cloud doppelgänger? The pious version of him? That just seemed exhausting.
