MARCUS/TREVOR BRAXTON'S POV

2:17pm

Victoria leaned into my side and rested her head on my shoulder as we sat on a park bench, watching our beloved son frolic with his friends. When Victoria said she was pregnant six years ago, I was shocked but overjoyed nonetheless. We named him after her late Grandad, Oliver. Of course, the media did not hold back from slandering our names, yet if didn't faze me. If falling in love with the most amazing woman in the world was wrong, then the reproach brought upon my name could be justified. However, the reproach didn't last very long because when our child was born, he captured everyone's hearts, including mine.

"It's amazing how carefree the life of a child can be." Victoria observed.

"That's because their parents feed, clothe and take care of their ever need." I replied, with glee. I kissed the top of her head and she sighed in contentment. Our son had inherited Victoria's mystical ocean blue eyes and and my caramel brown hair; he was a gift from God that I would cherish and protect for as long as I lived. It's nice to have time to spend with my family. My brother and I had taken over my fathers software company, so the workload was apportioned.

As for Alexis; she was as still crazy and bubbly as ever, possessing the same endearing qualities of a mother hen-Especially now that she was Oliver's Godmother. She visited religiously every week, bringing her delicious chocolate brownies that soon became her Godson's new obsession. In fact, her visit for this week was due today. She was planning on teaching Oliver how to bake and he had been looking forward to this cooking lesson all week.

However, that wasn't the sole purpose of her visit; today was the anniversary of Peggy May's death. Every year Victoria, Alexis and I would visit her grave, and today would make it the sixth year. It's sad how bad things happen to good people. Innocent Peggy May died a cruel death suffered at the hands of a lunatic: Michael Gory. We made sure that she would be remembered forever.

Victoria lifted her head from my shoulder. "I think its time to take Oliver home now, if we want to make it to the cemetery by 3'o clock. You know how impatient Alexis can get. " She reminded. Alexis was never late and she goes ballistic when people are unpunctual.

The cemetery

As Victoria and I entered the cemetery we saw Alexis standing in front of Peggy May's grave, her back facing us. We made our way over to her and she turn around once we were a feet away from her, as if she sensed that we were there. Her honey brown eyes narrowed in on us. She looked at her watch then shot us a disappointed look.

I checked my own watch: 3:02pm. I resisted the urge to roll my eyes in return.

"Took you long enough. Did you bring the flower?" Alexis asked.

"Of course." I replied, raising the framed plant in my hand.

Her serious expression morphed into a cheerful one. "Well, aren't you guys gonna give me a hug?" Her arms opened wide as she engulfed Victoria into a hug, doing the same with me. As she pulled away the shine in her eyes dimmed. "Let's pay our respects to Peggy May."

We all stared at the grave with grim-ridden expressions, reliving the unfortunate events that lead to the death our former neighbour. I placed the framed Forget Me Not flower by her grave next to the five others from the previous years. Peggy May was the one who had sourced the Forget Me Not that I wanted to give to Victoria as a token of my love. Since then, it became Victoria's favourite flower.

There are two things in life that will last forever: Love and memories. We live on as long as we're never forgotten.
