RECAP:

Zoe pulled me in for a hug. "Curiosity killed the cat." She whispered tauntingly into my ear, then pulled away. "Thank you for notifying me. It's great to know that I have such lovely neighbours." She smiled sweetly.

My eyes widened as she closed the door, after saying a short goodbye. I turned to Alexis and Marcus. Their arms were crossed, and they both gave me that you-better-explain look.

VICTORIA'S POV:

I motioned for them to be quiet by putting my finger to my lips, then I grapped both of their arms and dragged them into my apartment. I let go of them and closed the door behind me.

Marcus frowned. "Victoria-" I ran to the bathroom as fast as my legs could take me, before he could continue. Once I had finished my business, I joined a very confused Marcus and Alexis, in the living room.

I took a deep breath. "Now I know you two want answers, but I am starving and-"

Alexis tutted. "Victoria. Explain. Now." It's rare to see her so serious and fed up with a situation.

"Ok, ok. You guys should sit down for this..."

I recounted what happened from hearing the people running down the stairs, sneaking into Zoe's apartment, the video tapes, to Zoe's suspicious phone call. "...And that's when I opened her door, only to find you guys on the other side." I huffed.

Both Marcus and Alexis still wore expressions of shock and disbelief on their faces. Marcus wrapped his arm around my shoulder. "Wow. I guess you were right about Zoe being shady and all. You really scared us Victoria."

"Yeah," Alexis chimed in. "You scared me half to death. I thought that crazy ex boyfriend of yours had kidnapped you, or something." Relief was evident into her voice, and she slipped out of protective mother mode and into her old bubbly self. "Damn girl, you actually snuck into someones apartment! Never thought you had it in you, I guess you have an iron gut instinct. I never trusted that Vixon anyways."

I giggled in return. "Speaking of my crazy ex boyfriend. I think I figured out the note." Their eyes widened with curiosity. "The idiom: Still Waters Run Deep, was refering to Zoe. I don't think it's coincidence that she moved into our block of flats, shortly after the letter was given. Plus, she has put up a shy, timid and quiet front--when she is far from it. Just like still waters, it seems like nothing is going on with her, but if you go in deep, a lot is going on. We need to find out what is on this tape." I unzipped my leather jacket and took out the video tape that I had tucked in the side.

Marcus's eyebrows knitted together. "The date on the label was yesterdays date. We can watch this tape at work. We have a VCR there to view it. One thing I don't understand is, why Michael would warn us in that note about Zoe."

"It's all part of his sick and twisted game. And Zoe is in on it." I explained.

"What on Earth is he planning?! I don't understand what he is achieving. What is Zoe's role in this, to spy on us or something? This is messed up." Marcus ran a hand through his soft caramel hair.

Alexis stood up. "You can say that again. I'm getting my inflatable bed. I won't be able to sleep alone tonight with this new information. You can come with us tomorrow to work to watch the tape, Victoria. I'm actually quite excited to find out what's on there." And with that, she happiliy skipped out of my apartment, as if we hadn't been discussing anything serious at all.
