A New Feeling

☆ Chapter 6 ☆

Bonnie's eyes had just opened. Thankfully, he was set in a dark room, and his sensors could adjust rather quickly. His gaze searched the room in confusion. He did not recognize this area in the Pizzeria, oddly. It was nearly pitch black, and the room felt cold and desolate.

He felt his stomach drop at the thought he was thrown out. That this was his resting place. And what about Fredbear? Where was he? Is he awake again?

When Bonnie's finally fully adjusted, he gazed down towards his body to assess whatever damage he had. He hadn't known what he was expecting, but it certainly was not this.

He glanced in utter disbelief at his tiny blue paws and body connecting to something pale. It was when he turned to his left that he realized he no longer has a lower body and can only turn on the object holding him

What happened to him? Is this an upgrade? Why did they do this?? He had shifted entirely to the left and looked up in awe at what he was attached to.

It looked like Fred! He was so much different now. He looked good, of course! But different...

Bonnie remembered them talking about "recalling" Fred. The word scared him, yet he was not sure he understood what it meant. A small part of him worried Fred would forget about him, even after everything they went through.

The bunny hesitantly spoke up. However, he cut himself off as he heard himself speak and flinched at his new voice. It was very high-pitched and interfered with his sensitive hearing. Nevertheless, he tried again.

"Fred...? Freddy, wake up!" He said.

The bear groaned and groggily opened his eyes. When he had adjusted, he too scanned the room curiously as if to identify where the voice came from.

"Down here!" The bunny called.

Freddy turned to where his right hand would be and stared in amazement at the small bunny.

Bonnie hesitantly spoke up.

"D-do...do you remember me... Fred? It's Bonnie -" He asked nervously. When the bear recovered from his shock and recognized him, his face lit up in joy.

"OH, BON! IT'S REALLY YOU!" He yelled. The volume of his voice almost shook the room, and the bunny was momentarily stunned again.

"Inside voice, Freddy!" He whined. The bear recoiled.

"Is this better??" He asked. He was still rather loud, but this volume was more tolerable.

"Y-yeah, that's fine..." He said.

"But Fred, what else do you remember? Besides me??" Bonnie asked curiously. Freddy thought for a moment.

"...not much really -" He said. Bonnie contemplated how to phrase his next words.

"Do you...remember...y'know, the kid?" He asked hesitantly, still feeling metaphorical chills run up his body at the mention of it.

The bear blinked at him in confusion.

"Kid-? What kid??" He asked.

He doesn't remember... they really did change him.

In a split second decision, the bunny decided to divert.

"...t-the kid-s you used to entertain!" He smiled to the best of his abilities. Freddy thankfully did not catch onto him and merely shook his head.

"Nope. Don't remember them much." He said. The bear then perked up as a smile spread across his face.

"Let's go exploring this place!" The bear exclaimed excitedly. Before the bunny could react, he felt as though he nearly caught whip-flash as the bear swung Bonnie on his arm back to run. He was quick to correct it, though, and called Freddy to keep him lifted, to which the bear apologized and did so.

As the bear was jogging, the bunny was growing lost in thought.

Freddy was definitely different. Very different. He is so outspoken, energized, and outgoing, not like the Fredbear he knew. He loved how shy Freddy was. He had always found it cute. But it appeared he was not like that anymore, for whatever reason.

He also thought back to his memory. Although he was relieved the bear did not forget him, it amazed him that he did not remember the incident at all. In fact, he seemed even more joyous and blissfully ignorant now than he did before it happened.

Bonnie began feeling...differently, though.  At first, he was disappointed, but this could be exactly what he needed!

This burden Bonnie carried just witnessing the event was nearly too much to bear. He wouldn't wish this upon his worst enemy, let alone his partner. But now his partner could live free of such a pain! He can keep him from feeling such strong emotions.

And that is exactly what he was going to do. He would make sure Freddy was never forced to do such a thing again.
