A New Feeling

☆ Chapter 19 ☆

"I-I thought I wasn't your friend?" Bonnie asked, sitting back as he started returning to a stable state. The fox flinched and diverted his gaze.

"Well...I suppose since we do not need each other so much anymore, the truce can end..." He began. Fear spiked through the bunny's whole body before Foxy turned back to him and gave a watery smile.

"So... I guess we can just be friends now." He reassured. Bonnie relaxed again at hearing that. Foxy lifted a hand to his head and ruffled his ears affectionately.

"But don't make me regret this." He warned half-heartedly. Bonnie giggled. "I'll try not to!".

Once they had settled down, Foxy snickered and turned to him again.

"Now that you're feeling better, what is going on with your voice??" He laughed. Bonnie buried his face in his hands sheepishly.

"I was trying not to bring that up-" he complained.

"I thought your voice box was broken for a second!" He teased. Bonnie chuckled and swatted at him in retaliation. Both of them froze at a knock on the door.

"Who is it??" Foxy asked.

"I-it's Freddy...is Bonnie in there-?" He asked. Foxy turned to Bonnie for approval. The bunny's ears dropped, and his gaze lowered, but he nodded lightly. The fox then sat up and opened the door.

"Yeah, he's here. Why?" Foxy inquired.

"Is he ok...? He was freaking out earlier -" Freddy still sounded very worried. Foxy turned to Bonnie for his input. The bunny sighed and got up to speak to him.

"You two can talk alone, but out of my room." The fox huffed, guiding them towards the exit before closing the door again. Before anything else, Freddy gently cradled the bunny's face with his hands, looking him over. Bonnie tried pulling away but did not have the strength to at this point and chose to avoid eye contact.

When the bear's glance traveled to his ears, his gaze darkened.

"Bonnie, have you been pulling on your ears again...?" He questioned. Bonnie glanced down shamefully.

"A-a bit..." He muttered. The bear sighed, rubbing a comforting thumb over the abused ear and placing a gentle kiss onto it.

"I'm sorry... I-I can't control it-" the bunny began rambling, quickly being hushed by the bear.

"Bon, it's ok! I know you can't help it...I just wish you didn't have to hurt yourself like this..." He spoke softly. Freddy was holding him very lightly, as if afraid of breaking him.

Bonnie felt it again, that warmth, that gentleness and compassion Freddy has always had for him. The look in Freddy's eyes that showed nothing but concern and deep affection for him. The bear nuzzled his head gently before pulling away.

"Bonnie...if I... said or did anything to upset you... I'm so sorry." He muttered.

Bonnie did not know much about 'recalling'. All he knew was from his experience at Circus Baby's. He could only assume it changed someone completely since Freddy had acted so different then. But now that they had a more physical connection... Bonnie couldn't see a difference.

Funtime Freddy was louder and more aggressive, sure... but Freddy has always been short-tempered. In that case, it was just amplified. Even then, when it was just the two of them, Freddy acted relatively the same.

Freddy's memories and love for Bonnie has never changed.

Could this mean that...recalling didn't change an animatronic? And his partner was still the same? There was only one way to know for sure.

"F-Freddy? Can you...kiss me, please...?" He muttered. Freddy only smiled softly and leaned in, guiding the bunny's face to his softly. Finally, they once again connected. It was clear to Bonnie now that Freddy had never changed. His memories may be altered, but he was the same. The kiss was unfortunately short. Freddy pulled away to gaze at the bunny lovingly again. But when the bear noticed Bonnie's eyes watering once again, he panicked.

"Oh jeez...did I mess up again?! I'm so sorry-!" Freddy cried. Bonnie quickly silenced him by wrapping his arms around the bear's neck.

"You never messed up, don't apologize! I just-" Bonnie wiped his eyes. He did not know how to word what he was feeling right now, especially without telling Freddy what had happened.

"I just...I love you so much-!" He cried instead, crashing their lips together again for an even deeper kiss. The bear was shocked for a second before quickly returning it with equal passion. They were stumbling and stepping awkwardly, and without a wall to support them, he fell back, taking the bear down with him. When they landed, the bear had fallen on top of him, but he was too relieved to care. He moved a hand to the back of the bear's head and pulled him into another long kiss. The bear did his best to mimic the same energy and held the bunny's waist in a tight embrace. Finally, they broke away and laughed about it together. The bunny felt not only complete again, but he felt safer than he had in a long time. No matter what was happening, when Freddy held him, he felt protected. Like nothing bad could happen. The bear pulled him closer to nuzzle his head again and glanced down at him.

"That was a bit unexpected-" He stated. Bonnie chuckled.

"Y-yeah... sorry about that, I got excited-" He muttered sheepishly. Freddy snickered at that.

"It's ok! I loved it." He reassured him.

"You're voice sounds really cute now!" The bear giggled, causing Bonnie to hide his face in embarrassment.

"Not you too-!" He groaned. The bear only gripped his stomach and continued laughing.

"You're voice is goofy too!" Bonnie snapped.
