After arriving in Barcelona on Friday, my Uncle and Aunty greeted me with open arms. They gave me my own room. They turned one of their spare ones into my own private area (I mean after all they can certainly afford it) and let me settle down for a few days before I started working at the club with Uncle Xavi.

The time had come around, and it was Monday morning.

I decided to wear my track pants and my skims top with sneakers and my hair in a low messy bun. Stylish but comfortable for my first day.

I don't know much about football, but by default I support Barcelona. Driving on the way there, my uncle told me there were 4 new players who had signed permanently for the club.

We get to Camp Nou, and Uncle Xavi shows me around some new facilities. It's been years since I've been here. As he shows me the teams' trophies, a pretty girl around my age walks in and hands Uncle Xavi his coffee. She smiles at me and I smile back.

"Oh yes, thank you dear", my uncle says taking his drink "Y/N, I'd like you to meet Carmen. She just started working for us, and she'll be helping us out with everything- from grabbing the players their drink bottles and sweat towels to assisting us on game days and international trips. Carmen, meet my niece. You both will be working together this whole season."

"Nice to meet you Y/N", Carmen says to me with the friendliest of smiles.
"Nice to meet you as well" I grin warmly.

"Well," Uncle Xavi says, "the boys should be here soon and ready for their first training session of the new year. Carmen, if you can get all the water bottles ready and Y/N go get all the equipment from the storage room."

When he leaves, Carmen and I begin talking. I immediately like her. She's genuine and real. She's shy but I can tell she will warm up. I have a feeling we will become good friends. I learn that she has to work here to become financially independent. She lives with her grandparents and needs to work for herself.

As we hear some players start to arrive, we both realize it's time to start our jobs. She tells me where the storage room to get the equipment is as we part ways to get our tasks done. I'm horrible with directions, and as I try to find my way to the right place, I enter a room with what I believe is the storage room.
I look for the equipment- training cones and flags and vests. I can't find any.

I hear the door open, someone walks in. A guy. That's when I realize, I'm in the locker room. The boy's locker room.
Not the storage shed.
If only my sense of direction was better.

The guy looks frustrated, almost angry. His breathing is a bit heavy.
He has brown hair, looks around 5'7, and is tanned.
But he doesn't immediately see me.

And it was at that moment my phone decided to slip from my pocket. Guess I hadn't closed the zips properly.

He turned around, startled.

"Sorry, I didn't think anyone would be here," I say, "I was looking for the equipm-"
"Who are you" he cuts me off. I don't recognize him. He must be one of the four new players.
"I just started working here, my uncle is-"
"I don't care who you are. You're not supposed to be here. This is the players changing rooms, guys only".
"I am sorry, I didn't realize-"
"Listen, love," he says sarcastically, interrupting me. "This is a private area, players only'.
"I got it", I snapped back. "I was just apologizing, no need to be an ass".
"And you didn't need to be in here, yet here you are".

What on earth was this dickheads problem? I could tell he was in a bad mood because of something, and he was taking it out on me. I get that I shouldn't have been in here, but it was a total mistake. I'm terrible with directions, but this guy was infuriating me. He was unnecessarily a prick.

"You know just cause you're an athlete doesn't mean your anyone special. Your ego seems to be really far up your ass". I walk past him and out the door, not even giving him a chance to respond. He doesn't deserve it.

I am usually a patient person, but this guy really pushed it.

Who even was this jerk?

I said a silent prayer that this guy wasn't someone who played for our team. Maybe he was just someone from another team just coming to collect something they left behind.
