CH 30- Date for two

After the game had finished, and the stadium was clearing, us Barcelona staff went to congratulate the team out on the field.
The players were coming up and grabbing Carmen and I picking us up.
The vibe was high, everyone was really happy.

After we congratulated Ferran, Gavi was there.
He looked at us.
"Congrats Gavira!" I exclaimed. "Youre goal was amazing".
"Thank you Y/N", he smiled, giving me a hug.

"Congrats." Carmen smiled shyly. "You played really well."
"Thanks". Gavi said, equally as shy.
They embraced each other in a hug.

Their first hug.
I was screaming on the inside.

As they pulled apart, I noticed Gavi was nervous.
"Carmen", he said, clearing his throat.
She lifted her head up.
"I was wondering" ... Gavi seemed anxious, his voice trailing off.

It was sweet to see him like this because he's always so confident and tough.

"Yeah?" Carmen asked.
"Um, I wanted to know if you were free tonight and wanted to get dinner with me or watch a movie?"

I almost let a squeal. But I remained as quiet as a mouse.

This was their moment.

I could tell Carmen was caught off guard; in a good way.

"Uh, sure". Carmen grinned. "Dinner sounds good."
"Great". Gavi looked like he was relieved. "I'll swing by your room around 7?"
"Okay. I'll see you then."
"See you. Bye Y/N".
"Bye Gavi", I teased, giving him a wink.
He blushed as he walked away.

I turned to Carmen; my eyes wide open.
"Girl!" I finally let out my squeal. "Oh my god!" I screamed with delight.
"I can't believe it." Carmen let out a breath. "Does he like me too or something?"

I pursed my lips together, looking away, trying to hide my smile.
"Y/N", she let out a laugh, looking at me with eyes wide open. "Did you know about this?"
"Maybe I knew that he liked you and that he wanted to ask you out eventually. And maybe I had to keep it a secret. But I didn't know he would do it today. I guess him scoring the goal gave him that extra bit of confidence." I replied. "But boy, am I ever so happy" I screeched.

 

She let out a laugh. "I can't believe you". She slapped me softly, as a joke. "But Oh my god. Like I'm not already tense enough around him. Now I'm even more nervous about tonight." She buried her face in her hands.

"Hey, listen", I grabbed her arms. "You always continue to be cool calm and collected around him. Even if it feels like you're dying on the inside, he doesn't notice how nervous you are. You'll be more than fine, trust me, my girl."
She nodded, inhaling a breath.
"Come on, we're driving back to the hotel with Uncle Xavi" I pointed my head. "Let's go and get you ready."

We got back to the hotel.
It was a few minutes before 7 o'clock, and I was touching up Carmen's hair with some hairspray.
I curled her hair and helped her with her makeup. She looked so beautiful.

We heard a knock at the door.
"That'll be your man!", I said excitedly, heading towards the door. Carmen let out a small giggle.
I opened it, and sure enough, there he was, looking handsome and nervous.

And he was holding a bouquet of flowers.

"Hello Gavira", I teased, giving him a cheeky grin.
"Hi Y/N". He gave me a nervous smile back.
"She's just finishing up now". I assured him.
Sure enough, Carmen made her way over.
"Wow." Gavi put one hand on his chest. "You look amazing." He sighed.
"Thank you, Gavi." Carmen blushed. "You look nice yourself."
"These are for you".  He handed her the flowers.
Carmen beamed with delight. "Wow...um thank you. That's so lovely."

For one second, it looked like she didn't know what to do with the bouquet.

"I'll put these in a vase for you", I smiled, grabbing the flowers as she handed it to me.
She smiled at me.

"Are you ready"? Heasked her.
"I am", she replied. "Let's go".
"Bye Y/N," Gavi said.
"Bye Pablo, have fun," I smirked.
Carmen turned to me, her back facing Gavi and her eyes wide.
I lowered my gaze, telepathically saying 'You got this, you'll be okay'.
I think she understood what I was saying to her with my mind, because she gaveme a nod, closing her eyes.

"I love you" I said, giving her a kiss on the forehead. "Have fun!"
"I love you Amor". She said, smiling back.

I watched them walk out the door, my heart filled with happiness for the bothof them.

I now had the whole night to spend on my own, and I decided I would get comfortableand watch a movie. Maybe order some takeaway too.

I decided I should find a vase first to put the flowers in. Our hotel room didn'thave one, so I used a glass cup.
I was arranging the flowers, when I heard a knock at the door.

It was probably Uncle Xavi. He and I were planning to have dinner one of thesenights, just an uncle and daughter night, so I figured it was probably him.

I opened the door and to my surprise....
Pedri was here.
