On the way back to my seat, I realized a lot of lights were off because the majority of people were sleeping.
Eric was still knocked out.
"Wow, he is a really deep sleeper, isn't he?" I quietly said as I climbed into my seat.

Pedri and I were looking at each other, sitting very close.
"He is." Pedri replied.
"Good for him. I can't sleep at all on a plane for some reason."
"Neither can I". He said. "Do you want to watch a movie?"
"Sure."
We flicked through some movies on the little tv in front of us.
"How about this one?" He said, pointing to 'The Black Phone.'
"Ok," I said. He clicked play.

We were watching the movie, when there was a sudden jump scare.
"Oh my god", I jumped.
He laughed.
Another scene came on, and I felt there was a jump scare coming. I nervously covered my hand over my mouth.
Pedri looked over, and he could tell I was nervous.
"Here", he chuckled, and he put his hand over my eyes, leaving a bit of room in case I wanted to see.
The touch of his fingers was soft, gentle even. But I was too busy focused on not trying to jump because of how scary the film was.
The scary scene passed, and I turned to him.
"Thanks. I love horror films, but I get scared" I laughed.

He was looking at me, but he wasn't smiling.
Instead, he moved the bit of hair I had covering my face and tucked it behind my ear.

I felt my heartbeat quicken. I could feel the touch of his fingers brushing against my face and my ear. He held his hand there for a few seconds, while we were looking at each other.

I felt something.........
Pedro Gonzalez couldn't make me feel nervous.... could he?
No. That couldn't be it.

It was at that moment Eric woke up for just a second. He looked around, not knowing where he was, and immediately his head fell back, and he fell back asleep.

Pedri and I laughed quietly together.
We got back to watching the movie and we were about halfway in.
My head was still, but I glanced down and realized just how close our hands were to each others.

I ignored it. I got back to watching the movie when I felt his hand rest on top of mine.
I turned my head to the side, looking at him.
He didn't look at me, he was focused on the movie; but his hand was still slowly moving on mine, our fingers intertwining.

I turned back to the screen in front of us.

My heart was pounding.

The touch of his hand was soft and so gentle.

We continued watching the movie.
But It was somewhat hard to focus when all I could think about was the fact that we were holding hands.
The guy I once hated.
The one who annoyed me and irritated me and made my blood boil.

As soon as the movie finished, Eric woke up properly.

\It was almost as though both Pedri and I came to the realization that we were holding hands, and we suddenly let go.

Luckily for me, I didn't care......too much.
