It was a week later.
Uncle Xavi and I returned back to Barcelona."Y/N!!!!" Carmen shouted as I opened the door to her car.
"Carmen!!!!" I shouted back, closing the door.
We embraced each other in the biggest hug."Okay, I can't go that long ever again without seeing you." She said.
"Me neither," I replied. "How was your break though?"
"It was good," Carmen said.
We were driving to training, the first session back since the short break.
"I spent some quality time with my grandparents and just caught up with some friends. But I missed my best friend so much" She smiled, slowing down at the red light. She looked at me.
"I missed you more."
"How was seeing your family?"
"It was good. I really needed to see them."
"And how about..." Her voice drifted. She didn't want to say it, any more than I didn't want to hear it.
But she was referring to him.Luckily though, I was feeling a tiny bit better.
I was still majorly upset about everything he had said, but I knew it would take me a while to heal.
"Oh, sis I'm done with him. He and I will just go back to not knowing each other, and that's it." I looked to the road ahead of me but saw through my peripheral vision that Carmen was looking at me. I felt as though she was going to say more about the situation between Pedri and I, but I couldn't hear it.So I decided to change the subject quickly. "Anyways.... how about you and Gavira...? You didn't mention him. Are you guys okay, or...?"
"Girl, of course, we are." She gave a big smile. "We're not official yet, but we are exclusive."
"I'm so happy for you." I squeezed her hand. "He likes you so much."
We got out of the car, and when we got inside Camp Nou, it was a lot of exchanging hugs and hellos with everyone.
Everyone except one person.
During training, I didn't even look at him once.
A part of me was saddened because things had gotten back to how it once was. Maybe it was even worse this time around.I used to not look at him because he simply annoyed me, but now it was even more different.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------"Y/N?", I heard a girl's voice.
I turned around, and it was Sira, Ferran's girlfriend.
I had known her since childhood, and we were good friends. I hadn't seen her this season as she was traveling.
"Sira!" I said, embracing her in a hug.
"It's so good to see you chica, I missed you!" She gave me a kiss on the cheek.
"You too. I missed you."
There was another girl standing next to her, and Sira introduced me to her. It was Mikky, Frenkies girlfriend.
I called Carmen over and introduced her to the girls.Mikky and Sira stayed with us for todays training.
Even though it was my first time meeting Mikky, and Carmen's first time meeting both of the girls, we all instantly clicked. Straightaway, it felt like we had all known each other for ages.
We realized we were all free tonight and organized to go out for dinner.
We arranged for Carmen and I to meet them there after we finished work.
Once we were done, Carmen and I walked to the car park.
"Wait. I forgot to give something to Gavi", Carmen said.
"A kiss?" I teased.
She rolled her eyes, laughing. "No.... well yes but also-"
"It's fine, go," I said, with a laugh.I waited outside Carmens' car when I saw him.
He walked out, and turned his head to the side, our eyes making full eye contact.
We stared at each other for a few seconds, before he looked straight ahead, and reached someone's car.A girl's car.
He got inside, and I saw them give each other a quick kiss, and the car drove off.
I watched as they left.
I couldn't believe it.
I couldn't believe that we had taken a good look at each other.
I couldn't believe that he was with another girl.
And I couldn't believe that we had gone back to being strangers.
A few minutes later, Carmen returned, and we made our way to dinner.
I tried not to let it show, but I felt disheartened.
