CONTINUATION OF PEDRI'S POV.

I walked around and saw Y/N sitting up high on a bench, and Diego was standing between her legs. He had his arms around her waist. They weren't kissing, but they were laughing and talking. It did look like they were going to share a kiss soon.

I couldn't let this happen to her.
Even if she hated me more, I could not leave her alone with this guy. Not after what I saw him do a while back.

"Hey!" I shouted. "Get away from her".

They looked up at me startled.
"Well, well, well.... look who it is", Diego smirked at me.
Y/N looked at me, eyes widened. I could tell she was angry I interrupted them. But I didn't care. She shouldn't be around this guy.

"Y/N", I said, realizing this was the first time I ever said her name.
"What?" She hissed.
"He's not a good guy, let's go".
"No! Who are you to decide who's good or not for me? I didn't come here with you, and I'm not leaving with you, so please just piss off."

I could tell she wasn't going to listen to me.

I looked at Diego laughing over the fact she told me to piss off.
I felt the muscles in my jaw clench. "You better leave", I warned, looking right at him.
Diego came over to me. "What are you going to do about it?" He snarled.
"You aren't going to like it". I stared back at him.

"Guys stop. Pedri just go away. I mean it". I heard Y/N say.
It was also the first time she had said my name.
"Nah fuck this", Diego growled. "I don't need this shit". He walked off.
I looked over my shoulder, watching him storm off.

"What the fuck is your problem?" Y/N raised her voice. She had gotten up from the high bench, and we were standing a meter away from each other.
"I had to do that, he's not a good guy." I advised in a stern voice.
"You didn't have to do anything!" She shouted. "God, please just stop messing with me." She closed her eyes.
"Look, I'm sor-"
"No... No!" She cut me off. "You don't get to talk to me or have anything to do with me anymore. You're not my friend, you're not even an acquaintance."

She took a deep breath and continued, "It's not fair. You have a girlfriend, and you talk to girls at a party, but you're trying to stop me from being happy? What did I EVER do to YOU? Is this how much you hate me?"

I felt my heart beat fast.
I didn't hate her.
I never did.

I think maybe she scared me in a way.
She was different from any other girl I had ever met.
Because being in my profession, I was used to a lot of girls and their attention.
I was used to the same old things, and these included girls saying things they thought I wanted to hear and them acting in ways they thought I would like.

But Y/N.... She stands up for what is right. She's never been afraid to speak her mind. It feels as though in a way, I've never been challenged like this before, and to meet a girl who is real, honest, and upfront....is different.

But it was never ever my intention to be a dickhead to her. The truth was, I didn't know how to respond to a girl who was so secure in herself. She was confident and authentic.
And plus, I didn't have a girlfriend. Well, I did, but there was a lot that went down between my ex-Tania and me. The day at the mall was me and her ending things once and for all, and me getting some closure.
As for tonight, the girls I was talking to was only to help Jules get closer to one of them, I was merely a wingman.

I kept myself composed.
"He's not a good guy, you have to believe me-" I started.
"I don't." She interrupted, shaking her head. "I don't believe it. Because you're the one who's not a good guy."

At that time Carmen and Gavi walked out into the backyard. We looked at them and they looked at us. I could tell they knew something was up.

"Y/N, you good?" Carmen walked over to her.
"No," Y/N replied.
I could see her holding the tears back. "Can we please go?" She turned to Carmen.
Carmen nodded "Of course, c'mon."
She and Gavi gave each other a smile and wave goodbye, and the girls walked out.

"You good man?" Gavi asked. "What happened?".
I told him, and Gavi understood. "Wait, that was Diego?" he asked.
I nodded.
"Oh shit, I've heard about him too. You did the right thing". Gavi patted my back.

The rest of the night went quickly. I couldn't stop thinking about Y/N.

This girl hated me, and I was only trying to look out for her.
But she would never believe that.
