Huo Junxian took one of the apples and left the other one for Gu Siyu to eat. Gu Siyu washed the apple and wiped it dry before taking a bite.
The apple tonight was especially sweet. Gu Siyu ate it and stood on the balcony looking up. The upstairs lights were off, and it was so dark that she didn't know what Huo Junxian was doing.
The stars were bright on this summer night, and a crescent moon scattered white light. The cicadas in the woods hadn't stopped yet, and the chaotic sounds mixed together. The leaves rustled sparsely. Later, a gust of wind blew, and the surroundings became cooler.
Just as Gu Siyu was about to go inside, the upstairs light turned on. It was dimly lit, and she carefully identified the position. It seemed to be the bathroom light. Gu Siyu took the last bite of the apple and went back to her room. She also needed to take a shower.
For the next week, Huo Junxian still went to the backyard every day, and the neighbors still didn't appear. After crying initially, Huo Junxian had stopped crying. She sat there and stroked the dog every time. Teddy looked very depressed, and she coaxed her, but Teddy always made a few muffled cries.
Teddy's brain was not as smart as a human's. Every time he went out, he was excited, but when he got to the destination, he became unhappy.
Honestly, if even dogs know when they are unhappy, how could Huo Junxian not know? Why did she still insist? She wouldn't be as silly as a dog, would she?
Is Huo Junxian really that devoted?
Those who appear cold and aloof on the outside are often the most devoted and passionate on the inside.
It's really heartbreaking.
One time, Huo Junxian was holding Teddy under a tree, and Teddy jumped out of her arms. Huo Junxian went to get a rope, and Teddy kept running forward.
Gu Siyu shouted from upstairs, "Hey, Huo Junxian."
Huo Junxian looked up in a panic, her eyes dull, and her gorgeous face was filled with melancholy. After looking at Gu Siyu, she lowered her eyes.
"I'll play with you," Gu Siyu said.
Her voice was gentler than before, without the earlier nonchalance. Gu Siyu showed sincerity and jumped down from upstairs again.
It was faster to come down here, and she didn't let Huo Junxian wait for a moment.
Soon she was sitting next to Huo Junxian. She looked at Huo Junxian, but Huo Junxian's expression remained indifferent, as if she was still treating Gu Siyu as air. This made Gu Siyu very dissatisfied.
Gu Siyu walked to the middle of the lawn and called Teddy. She couldn't shout "Xiao Yu" out loud, so she clapped her hands at Teddy and said, "Come here, silly dog."
Teddy turned his head and looked at her. Gu Siyu took out a small red leather ball from her pocket. Teddy's eyes lit up and he rushed over to her.
Gu Siyu tossed the ball back and forth, and when Teddy came over, she immediately threw it forward. Teddy ran over to catch the ball in an instant, then bit it and ran back. Gu Siyu reached out to catch it, but Teddy made a sharp turn and ran to Hu Junxian. It looked up at him and barked, shaking its two ears, hoping to please its owner and get praised.
Hu Junxian took the ball out of its mouth, touched its head, and said gently, "Wow, Xiao Yu is so good."
She threw the ball again, and Teddy ran to fetch it. Gu Siyu also ran after Teddy and fought with the small white creature.
Back and forth, Gu Siyu couldn't win against Teddy at all.
Teddy rolled on the ground in excitement.
Once, Gu Siyu managed to get the ball. She tossed it back and forth in her palm and blinked at Hu Junxian, thinking to herself, "She should say something to me now."
