Every word and every sentence, originally sweet words, now felt like they were laced with poison. Wherever they landed, decay would follow.
Huo Junxian held tightly, and if Gu Siyu wanted to break free, she had to struggle. But every time Gu Siyu exerted force, Huo Junxian's strength increased. In the end, both of her hands pressed down with all their strength.
Gu Siyu, panting, sat down, chin raised, looking at Huo Junxian. She remained silent for a few seconds, her legs crossed, showing no sign of being a waitress. She raised her eyebrows, looking at Huo Junxian with an untamed expression, like an untamed wolf.
"Your clothes look nice," Huo Junxian said, rubbing her fingers and smiling as she commented.
The dress code in the shop was uniform, but since Gu Siyu had just started working, the owner hadn't made her choose clothes yet. Instead, she tied an apron around her waist with "Most Beautiful Flower Shop" written on it in blue, featuring a small bear.
"Yeah, not bad," Gu Siyu replied.
Afterward, the two sat without much conversation. Gu Siyu avoided Huo Junxian's gaze, looking out the window. Coincidentally, Huo Junxian's face was reflected on the glass wall, and unintentionally, Gu Siyu's gaze lingered for a few seconds. Huo Junxian's eyes met hers.
Though facing each other without speaking, their eyes engaged in a strange confrontation.
It felt strange, with a noticeable electric charge. There were ripples in their hearts, yet their expressions remained calm.
Gu Siyu ran her fingers through her hair, realizing she had cut it short. Huo Junxian also noticed it but didn't comment immediately. Gu Siyu wondered why Huo Junxian didn't remark on this sudden change in her appearance.
Perhaps, she thought too deeply, and her eyes betrayed her anticipation. Eventually, Huo Junxian complimented, "Your short hair looks good, quite charming."
"Yeah."
"It makes you look wilder."
It sounded like she was about to add, "I don't like it," and Gu Siyu waited for that, but Huo Junxian didn't say anything more. Her gaze shifted a few times but withdrew.
Gu Siyu stood up, and Huo Junxian followed suit, asking, "Where are you going? Won't you spend more time with me?"
Her voice was soft and tender, almost conveying a hint of longing.
"The flower shop has customers," Gu Siyu spoke with a stern tone. One cannot turn back when walking away; if you turn back, your legs will weaken. You have to keep your eyes closed, even if you know someone's gaze is closely following you.
Although Gu Siyu had mentioned a coffee limit, Huo Junxian continued to ignore the rules, ordering more coffee. Gu Siyu didn't bother delivering it every time; it was exhausting for Ayang to run back and forth. Trying not to care, Gu Siyu waited until the fourth cup. She took a deep breath and couldn't bear it any longer.
"Don't bother delivering it anymore," she said. "If she drinks so much and ends up killing herself, can you bear the responsibility?"
Ayang stared at Gu Siyu in surprise, then replied, "It's not her drinking the coffee; it's her bodyguards who came with her, those people in black. But she always orders one cup at a time, and they're the most expensive ones. I didn't dare say anything."
Gu Siyu choked up.
In that moment, she felt a triumphant and cunning gaze flowing over her face. Gu Siyu dared not look toward the corridor.
In silence, she could sense the amusement.
Oh well.
You care about me; you worry about me. You have me in your heart.
