Chapter 4: Go away

The words "go away" left Gu Siyu stunned for a while.

She didn't expect that Huo Junxian would actually talk to her. She felt like she had just acted shamelessly and disgracefully towards Huo Junxian. A normal person would have slapped her and told her to leave.

But unexpectedly, Huo Junxian actually responded to her.

"Are you always like this?" Huo Junxian asked.

Gu Siyu looked back at Huo Junxian, but she didn't reply. Huo Junxian was cutting vegetables with her head down, and her arms were too weak to push Gu Siyu away. Instead, she raised her arm slightly to push her away.

It was very cold and indifferent.

As a result, Gu Siyu even doubted whether she had heard "go away" or "get out." The difference between these two words was significant—one carried disdain, while the other was more ambiguous.

"Huo Junxian," she called out.

Huo Junxian didn't respond.

Gu Siyu watched as Huo Junxian skillfully prepared the ingredients and cooked. When she plated the food, her movements were light, almost more cruel than slapping a sweet jujube.

"Go away," Gu Siyu said coldly.

Teddy was still being foolish and kept tugging on her pants.

Gu Siyu laughed again, thinking of walking away.

She looked at the figure in the kitchen. Huo Junxian was making soup and stirring it gently with a spoon. She was wearing an apron around her waist, a red one.

Honestly, if it was Huo Junxian, she could accept it. But thinking about this stupid dog in front of her, Gu Siyu inexplicably felt angry.

Jin Yuansen was not at home today, and it would be a waste not to cook something.

Teddy ran around and barked.

Gu Siyu pressed her finger to her lips and whispered, "Don't make noise, I'm thinking."

"Ah." Teddy threw the ball on the ground and pushed it with his paws, intentionally or unintentionally touching Gu Siyu's feet, making her even more itchy.

In the evening, the food was ready and Huo Junxian brought it to the table.

During the days that Gu Siyu stayed here, Huo Junxian always cooked, making two portions for each meal, and she made each dish beautifully. She did not show any lack of hospitality when it came to food.

Although Jin Yuansen had always said that Huo Junxian would cook at night, today was the first time that Gu Siyu had dinner here after staying for so long. This was their first dinner together.

The dishes were plentiful, with carrot stew, pork ribs, and fish, all with great color, aroma, and taste. Gu Siyu held her chopsticks, struggling to decide which one to pick up first.
