This was a heavy blow to Huo Junxian. She sat motionless in the courtyard, her gaze fixed on the small grave.

At first, Gu Siyu sat with her in a daze, enduring the cold wind together. Later, Gu Siyu felt that this was not good. Huo Junxian was too depressed. She could sit here indefinitely, like a withered tree rooted in the soil, no longer sprouting, decaying with the passage of time.

She softly called Huo Junxian to get up, but Huo Junxian didn't move. Gu Siyu stood up and pulled Huo Junxian into the house.

Huo Junxian fell directly to the ground, her eyes staring blankly ahead.

Gu Siyu locked eyes with her, her fingers trembling. In that moment, she was frightened by Huo Junxian's vacant gaze. Huo Junxian seemed to have become a paper-thin figure, devoid of a soul.

Gu Siyu crouched down, gently touching her face. Her once delicate and beautiful face now felt cold in the wind. Gu Siyu cradled her face in her hands, hoping to share some warmth with her.

"Huo Junxian, don't be like this, okay?" Gu Siyu comforted her.

Gu Siyu could accept Xiao Yu's departure because the emotions were not as intense as with Huo Junxian. Similarly, she had anticipated it early on and was mentally prepared to handle the sadness. But Huo Junxian was different. Teddy's departure was a disaster that dealt a severe blow to herself.

Gu Siyu hadn't anticipated that Huo Junxian's grief would affect her so deeply. Seeing Huo Junxian like this, she wished she had the magic to resurrect Teddy.

Huo Junxian sensed her fear and closed her eyes first. Her lips moved, as if saying something.

Gu Siyu knelt down to listen and heard her say, "It's so painful."

Gu Siyu's heart tightened.

So painful, it was for her too.

How could they get through this?

"I want to sleep for a while," Huo Junxian said in a low voice, "Just sleep, pretending not to know anything."

Gu Siyu tried to lift her spirits, "Don't be like this. We need to stay strong. Are you hungry? I am. Is there anything you want to eat?"

She touched Huo Junxian's face. From Teddy's departure until now, Huo Junxian hadn't shed a tear. Gu Siyu wished she would cry, to release her grief.

Adults understand that sometimes tears won't come out when you're deeply saddened.

Huo Junxian was still in a daze, unable to accept it. She selfishly didn't want Teddy to leave.

Gu Siyu lowered her head, touched her forehead, and softly said, "It will get better, definitely. Trust me. We don't need to rush; we'll take our time to overcome this."

Huo Junxian hadn't eaten or drunk anything for two days, showing no interest or desire for anything. It was as if she might wither away like this.

Gu Siyu didn't force Huo Junxian to get up. Instead, she went to the kitchen to cook noodles. One bowl for herself, one for Huo Junxian. However, Huo Junxian couldn't bring herself to eat.

Teddy had been with Huo Junxian for so many years, and his sudden departure was something she couldn't accept. But fate couldn't be resisted.

After finishing her noodles, Gu Siyu pulled Huo Junxian up again. Holding another bowl of noodles, she blew on it and brought it to Huo Junxian's lips. Huo Junxian shook her head, indicating she didn't want to eat.

"Please eat a little. I know you're sad, but by neglecting your body like this, think about how sad that silly dog would be if he knew." Gu Siyu comforted her, using the only method she could think of.
