Audriana
I have a interviewed about thirty people today for the positions I have open. None of them have fit the position perfectly. My best friend, Grace is working under me and she's happy to finally be in the field that she got her degree in. I just need a secretary and a personal assistant since I have a whole floor to myself.
"Miss Austin, you have a last minute interviewee. Can you fit her in?" Missy, the receptionist asks as she pops her head in.
"Yes," I reply. "Send her in."
Missy moves out of the way and let's the girl in. She awkwardly walks toward my desk as she clenches her worn out skirt. Her black hair is pulled back into a ponytail and she has no makeup on. She's pretty. She's on the heavier side but looks my height. She has freckles scattered amongst her face especially across her upturned nose.
I stand up and we shake hands. I motion for the chairs in front of her and she sits down. I sit down and pick up my pen. I look at her as she stares at me.
"What's your name?" I ask.
"Valeria," she replies. "Valeria Stewart."
"I'm Audriana Austin," I reply as I weight her name down. "What brings you in for an interview? Have you had any previous employment?"
"My mom is making me get a job or go to college," she replies. "I want to defer a year. I worked at this Italian restaurant for a little while. I was let go because I'm fat."
"What skills do you have? Do you know the job you're applying for?" I ask as I write her answer down.
"I'm very organized. I think I have OCD and I'm applying to be a personal assistant," she replies. "I'm not qualified for any other job in this building."
"Here," I murmur. "Write down your contact information and I think that will be the end of the interview."
I hand her the notepad and pen. She writes down her information and hands the pen and notepad back to me. I set them down and stand up. She slowly stands up and we shake hands.
"Thank you for coming in," I add as I smile at her.
I follow her out of the office as Missy steps off the elevator. Missy approaches me with a small smile. She leans against the desk.
"Call her in a couple of days and tell her that she has the job," I murmur.
"What about your secretary?" Missy asks.
"That one guy with the freckle on the top of his nose, Hayden," I reply. "He was all for the job compared to the others."
"Alright," she replies. "Oh, you have a delivery downstairs."
"What is it?" I ask.
"I didn't look at it," she replies. "I came to see who you picked."
"Do you know who it's from?" I ask.
"No," she replies.
"I'm going to go get it, I guess," I murmur.
I walk over to the elevator and press the down button. The doors open up and I step into the elevator. I press the button as the doors close.
