Audriana

Four long months of nonstop working have drained me. I basically run the whole business while my boss stays in his office. He doesn't help or even speak to any of us.

"You have a visitor," Valeria murmurs as she pops her head into my office. "He's of the opposite sex."

"Send him in," I reply.

Gio walks in with a small smile on his face. He helps himself to my alcohol. Valeria closes the door. Gio sits in the leather seats in front of my desk without a care in the world. I haven't seen him since the memorial service for my murdered family. He has definitely aged since I saw him last.

"Why are you here?" I ask.

"Matteo is going to buy out the business," he replies.

"Why are you telling me this?" I ask.

"I just thought you should know since you will be losing your job," Gio replies.

He smirks. I roll my eyes and try not to react. I have been working on myself and trying to keep my inner psychopathic thoughts to myself. Hearing that I will lose my job, makes me want to go manic and kill the son of a bitch. I finally got this business to a great point. We have been recognized and given awards because of me. I brought this motherfucker back from the dead and he wants to buy it out.

"Is he in his office?" I ask.

"Should be," he replies.

I pick up my office phone and dial his office number. It rings three times before it's picked up. Heavy breathing can be heard from the other side of the phone.

"Matteo Rossi's office, Kelsey speaking," her whiny voice fills my ears.

"Put me on speaker," I reply in a girly voice.

"Speak," Matteo replies.

"How fucking dare you?! I have to hear from Gio that you are trying to buy out the company that I work at! That makes you a fucking coward! You, Matteo, are a fucking bastard!" I yell. "You couldn't stand me making this place better! You're a fucking dick."

"You really think you can work for a low-down company like that? They don't even get good clients, Audriana. You are digging yourself into a hole. I'm simply saving your ass once again!" Matteo replies.

"Saving my ass? Have you asked your company where all of their clients have gone? Your company won't even work with mine because my whole team is WOMEN!" I yell.

"You worry about your shitty ass company and I will worry about my company. Stop calling my office or you will be handled," Matter replies in a calm, dark tone.

"Your threats mean nothing to me, Matteo. They are just empty promises," I reply.

I hang up before he can. I look at Gio as he takes a sip of his drink. Gio is a shit starter. That's all he came here for. He knew what he was doing when he came here.

"Matteo has not been the same since you broke up with him," Gio murmurs. "He's gone too dark. He is closed off and is back with Kelsey."

"What does this have to do with me?" I ask.

"You broke his heart. He now dabbles in human trafficking, drugs, and other illegal businesses. He fell head first into what his father has been preventing his whole life," Gio replies.
