I wake up to meet another day.
Looking around my cell, I notice Liv is gone. Maybe she gave up on waking me up? I get up and walk out of my unlocked cell, go outside and notice slaves are chatting and laughing, the air is cold, and the breeze feels soft.
My stomach growls, but I ate a sandwich last night.
"That's not you it's me." I hear Nyx say in my head, I sigh.
How wonderful.
"You just ate two souls!" I remind her,
"That was two months ago, Eris, I need food."
What do I do then? I can't kill anyone, you know that. "Maybe you can use animals, like you used to?" Nyx suggests.
Oh right! Before I was kidnapped, whenever Nyx got hungry, I would kill live cows and sheep to satisfy her. She can't eat animals that are already dead since dead animals have no soul.
"Eris!"
I'm coming! I look around, where am I supposed to get an animal now? "Use a gorgon." She says, "That would do."
Good Idea.
I sneak around until I find the gorgons' cage, no one is around and they are still sleeping, lucky me.
Using my abilities, I lift a gorgon; it floats in the air and my eyes turn pitch black. I kill the creature, ripping it up from within. It struggles and roars in pain as it turns into ashes.
"Thank you, Eris, that will do for now."
Thank you? She never says thank you.
I ignore the thought and turn around ready to go back to my cell before anyone notices when a pair of ocean blue eyes meet mine, at first I assume it's Liv but it's actually Levi. I freeze.
Oh no!This is bad, really bad.
Instead of running and screaming like any normal person would, Levi smirks. "I knew it!" He exclaims, a stupid grin on his face.
Uhm what?
"You're very confused aren't you?" He asks crossing his arms, eyeing me up and down like I was some toddler.
I nod, "Why aren't you running?" "Why should I?" Levi shrugs, I stare in disbelief. "Err. I don't know maybe because I just killed a gorgon!"
Levi laughs, "Follow me." he says, "We have a lot to talk about." I nod and he leads me to a secluded area far from the public, a perfect place to talk in private without any distractions.
He sits on the grass and I do the same. "Okay, you already know this but I just want to clarify." I begin, "I have abilities..Before you say anything else, I'm not a witch I...."
"I know." Levi interrupts my rant, I close my mouth, "You know?" I inquire, not sure I heard him right. "I knew since the first day we spoke." He continues, "HOW?!" I exclaim still in shock. "Just like you, I have abilities too." He explains, I widen my eyes, "I'm...Just very good at keeping them secret, unlike you." He mocks and I frown.
"I try my best."
Levi smiles, "Whatever you say, any questions?"
Yes.
"How long have you had them?" I ask him, "As long as you have." He replies with a shrug. "Since I was an infant."
Oh.
"My powers are different from yours though," He continues, "One of them is talking to the dead."
"YOU CAN TALK TO THE DEAD?!" I yell, Levi covers my mouth, "You don't have to tell the whole world." He says looking around to see if anyone is listening to our conversation. I remove his hand from my mouth and mumble a small "Sorry."
