Day 124

I'm sitting in my room on my bed reading a book, it's been one month since I was taken to this horrid place.

A month since I discovered my new abilities.

Yes, I can pause time.

Unfortunately, I can't use my abilities and escape from this living hell, I'm too weak.

My attention goes back to the book I was previously reading.

Princess Selena ran from the tower, her long luscious brown locks flowing in the wind as she did. She couldn't look back, she wouldn't dare. The wolves might catch her.

What on Earth is this?

I throw the book to the other side of the room, it hits the wall and flops down unto the floor. I lie down and close my eyes, sighing.

Hopefully, I can fall asleep.

Instead of falling into a deep slumber, Nyx decides it's the right time to disturb me.

"You have to leave this place." She says, her voice low and sickly.

"I can't." I respond, eyes still closed, "Remember, I collapse every time I try to use my abilities. I'm giving up."

"So, you're just going to rot away in this prison?" Nyx questions and I nod. "Yep!" I say popping the 'p'.

"Eris, you can't just give up." Nyx points out, not showing any signs of hopelessness. "Well," I shrug, "That's exactly what I'm doing."

I roll unto my side and try to block out Nyx, which turns out to be futile. "Levi won't give up this easy!" She yells and I let out a groan of frustration.

Levi.

It's been a month since I've heard anything from him. In fact, it's been a month since I've heard from anyone.

I miss them.

Liv, Ava, Lucy, Bell, Jake, Bett, Bryce, Cole...Even Ajax!

What hurts the most is knowing Levi is in the other room, just down the hall and I can't talk to him.

Every time we try to communicate telepathically, we both get an awful headache.

What's worse is the headache lasts for hours.

It's terrible.

"I know you miss him." Nyx continues, her voice soft, we've both become closer this past month, you know, being locked up in this room with only each other to talk to.

I think she's the only reason I haven't gone insane.

"I do. Alot." I admit, "I miss everyone."

"That's one of the reasons why you unlocked your new ability."

"What new ability?"

"Remember, your powers are unlocked when you feel a new emotion or experience, something that makes you feel, odd." Nyx explains.

"So, what emotion did I feel, or experience happened that made me able to pause time?" I ask.

"Grief."

Of course.

"The dreams I've been having," I begin, "Are they powers? Because, since they brought me to this room, I haven't had any."

"I told you those dreams are memories." Nyx responds, voice flat.

"Well, I don't remember anyone with midnight colored hair or black curly hair." I point out getting up from my previous position on the bed and sitting upright, legs crossed.
