I'm sitting on an old log, humming the tune I heard in my dream yesterday while drawing some shapes in the sand with a small stick.
"What's that tune you're humming?" Levi asks, sitting beside me, a small smile on his face. I glance at him before returning to my sand drawings. "Oh, just some song I heard in my dream last night." I shrug, "It's been stuck in my head since."
"Hm, I heard a similar tune in my dream as well. A woman was singing. She looked worried." Levi says.
"Same."
"Do you think we had the same dream?" Levi inquires and I nod.
"Maybe...Our dreams don't feel like dreams though." I add, "They feel real."
"You're right." Levi nods, "They're memories, but, not our memories. Erebus told me that."
I sigh, "Nyx said the same thing."
Levi shrugs, he grabs a small stick lying on the ground and starts drawing his own little figures next to mine. It annoys me a bit, until I realize he drew a sand person, holding hands with mine.
I smile a little before going on, "So, if the dreams are memories, that must mean Erebus and Nyx have some sort of past life, but their souls are stuck with us for some reason."
"Mhm." Levi Hums, "Hopefully, the archives answer all these questions." He draws a little baby sand person in between our sand people making a small sand family. It's cute.
I look at the tiny baby in the middle and smile.
Ether
"Hm?" Levi perks up with furrowed eyebrows.
"What?"
"You said something."
"I didn't say anything."
Levi furrows his eyebrows and shrugs, "K. I thought you said something."
Ava walks up to us, destroying the little sand family we made with her boots. Levi frowns and I groan.
"Sorry to interrupt you guys." She begins, "But, we're leaving now. Have you packed your things?"
Levi and I nod in unison before getting up from the old log we were sitting on.
The three of us go over to where the others are patiently waiting for us with their backpacks strapped to their shoulders. Ajax and Liv have their swords in their scabbards as usual, ready to fight off any beasts we come across.
"Are you guys ready?" Bryce inquires. I nod while Levi mouths a small 'Yes.'
We begin our journey through the forest, laughing and chatting with one another as we do. I've realized that the seven of us have become very close, we find comfort in each other's company.
As we advance, the trees get closer and thicker while the path becomes less visible because of the fog, making it quite scary and difficult to see.
"Okay everyone, stay close, we don't know what's lurking in these woods." Ajax announces and we obey him, coming closer together.
We continue down the eerie path until we hear a noise.
"What's that?" Bell asks, looking around panicked, her tone is small and full of worry.
"I don't know..." Bryce says.
Ajax draws out his sword and pulls Liv closer defensively.
"Do you think it's a Gorgon?" Ava whispers.
"It could be something else." Bryce says.
We go silent and listen. There is rustling in the distance. Bell goes closer to the noise.
