With my heart thumping loud in my chest, my eyes wandered around in awe, carefully painted lips parting in a gasp of fascination.

Never could I have imagined the school gym to look this good.

I halted in my tracks as soon as the staircase came, a few 10 stairs leading down to the actual ground where the setup had been arranged. As it was already dark with flashing lights, it was harder for me to see and walk down equally gracefully adorned in such a long and relatively fitted dress.

At the thought did I quickly straighten my posture, followed by running my fingers down the tulle material of my red dress, straightening the droopy net of the off-shoulder sleeves, a chill running down my spine watching my warm exhale condense in the cold air.

A whirl of wind passed by and my attention flew to my phone, alert hearing the ting of a notification, awaiting a message or a call impatiently, but frowned seeing it was just a promo text. Fuck you, Amazon.

Ever since Mr. Jeon had tormented me by sending me a mirror selfie of him in that outfit, I couldn't remove the breath-knocking, toe-curling, sheet-gripping picture even if I tried to. Multiple times.

My heart fluttered, knowing he had especially gotten himself a new suit for us to match, subtly but surely.

A shrill shriek left my throat, eyes widening in shock as my hands advanced in any sort of leverage, my balance befriending the ground with one wrong step, stepping over the bits of my long dress, not that the 2-inch golden pencil heels helped either.

"Are you okay?"

Long fingers firmly wrapped around my wrist, holding me back from tumbling, my torso softly colliding against the person's before I was able to regain my composure.

"Y/n?" my gaze lifted to the owner of the voice, a shaky gasp trembling its way out of my mouth.

"Y-you look gorgeous." his cheeks bundled up as he smiled, rose-tinted lips suiting him well along with a white loosely fitted suit. He had gotten a fresh haircut, bringing his grown bangs back to their original cute silky length. What captured me the most were his eyes— dark blue lenses easily encompassing and enhancing the appeal of his already pretty oculus to ten times.

"You didn't disappoint, too." I struggled against smiling, holding his hand but letting him place a kiss on the back of my hand. "Pleasant meeting you, Kim Taehyung."

"Likewise, always." Taehyung licked his lips, making me already raise my other hand to stop him, awkwardness filling the both of us as he had already done the deed. "Your lipgloss… you licked some of it off.."

I watched the way crimson whisked on his already flushed cheeks, struggling to figure out if it was makeup or actual blush as he shook his head, subconsciously licking them once again. "I brought some with me… I'll touch up."

At his words, I simply smiled, relieved in finding at least one person I could spend my night with. Before I could open my mouth to express my gratitude, he was already speaking, lining our eyes together, making me immediately steer away, unable to hold contact with the brilliant blue and the way he appeared so… handsome? Hot?

Unusual?

"I actually wanted to ask you to prom but... after you said you weren't coming, I was afraid to burden you." oh no, oh no-no…

Oh no.

"No, it's—" "So umm Daniel ended up asking me to be his date. I… well I didn't mind… yknow… because nobody else was there so…"
